Bill Snyder
Can we just award the man a Coach of the Year trophy? He deserves it and is probably one of the best coaches in the nation. That is all.
Re: Bill Snyder
That codger can coach like a mofo. Pity he never got a chance with better talent than KSU can pull.

Re: Bill Snyder
Getting those 3-4 easy OOC wins is how you get to bowl games and begin the process of building a program that was in shambles. I'm sure he learned that from Hayden Fry when Snyder was the OC at Iowa. It's a great way to build confidence and to take a look at kids on the 2 and 3 deep. It's also the main reason I gave up my season tickets at Iowa in the late 80's, because I didn't really enjoy watching them beat UTEP, Drake, and Northern Illinois by 50 every Saturday. That did beat the hell out of watching them lose to Western Michigan though.Screw_Michigan wrote:Bill Snyder thinks SEC schools schedule competitive OOC games.

Bwaha. 2007 and it knocked Iowa out of bowl eligibility. Great day. I meant it more as a tongue-in-cheek comment towards Snyder. I don't really have anything against him. Although even in his heyday at K-State, he was still scheduling the likes of Galludet University and Catholic University.Mace wrote:That did beat the hell out of watching them lose to Western Michigan though.
Re: Bill Snyder
Part of the cake noncon scheduling is to build the program but part is that KSU has had to rely HEAVILY on juco-guys. It takes a bit to get those guys up to speed in their new system. You don't want to take a couple on the chin while you are getting in-synch.

I think I'm 3-1 with KSU in pick'em. Seems like they keep getting points against middling Big 12 teams.

Re: Bill Snyder
KSU +9.5 at Tejas was easy money, probably the easiest pick all year.
about Snyder, his teams do not beat themselves.

Re: Bill Snyder
Every team in America has ample motivation to avoid potential early-season losses. The thing is, some teams still have the balls to risk them by playing teams with a pulse while others like KSU, Wisky, and nearly all SEC teams simply don't. There is nothing the least bit commendable about this practice. Building bowl-eligibility through the blatant padding of one's schedule with nonstop creampuffs is a type of cowardice that should never be condoned, much less celebrated. Even more than a lack of a playoffs, this one shit-awful practice is the single biggest different in the NFL's favor, compared to the college game.Danimal wrote:Part of the cake noncon scheduling is to build the program but part is that KSU has had to rely HEAVILY on juco-guys.
