Best show on TV right now.
Don't even come at me with Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire, etc. All good shows, but missing one very important element: zombies! I don't think there's a TV show out there that wouldn't be improved by adding zombies to the mix. Think of how much cooler Survivor would be...

Looking at the previews, they may be soon explaining the helicopter in Atlanta from Season 1.

I missed it Sunday.
But there's this button on the cable remore labeled "On Demand," so I pushed it, and lo and behold.

When they went all fancy high-tech with digital cable, the addressable box came in the mail, delivered by one of those fancy high-tech mail trucks.Sudden Sam wrote:I ain't into all that fancy high-tech stuff.

Normally they show the previous week's episode the hour before the new one..

Sam,
You could probably pick up one of them newfangled "VCRs" from your local Goodwill for about $10. Normally, I'd recommend getting a cable box with a DVR, but let's just stick with baby steps for now.

"Writing" is accurate. Getting their asses sued off by Tesla, for "writing" in falsehoods about the car.Sudden Sam wrote:Top Gear (the Brits) I could watch 24/7. Greatest show ever. Great writing. Great camera work. Brilliant.
Maybe they should have considered that the ECM keeps a log before they started dissing it (when the problem was user-error).

Re: The Walking Dead...tonight at 8c on AMC..
This show is bad. They've taken a show about zombies and made it boring. How is that even possible? They are now going to stretch out being stuck on the road to 3 episodes when it should have only been one.
There is almost no emotional investment in any of the characters because they haven't been explored very well, outside of Rick.
I can't believe this has already been renewed for a 3rd season.

I'm pretty sure that well scene is the grossest thing I have ever seen in a television show.

Episode 1 of the new season was excellent. They pulled out all the stops. It has been painfully slow developing since then. Time to move on with the plot.

mid season finale was pretty fuckin good..the last 10 minutes of it were pretty intense...
figured for sure Shane was going to put that old man out.
then finding that little girl was pretty tight.

That was a fantastic episode. My roommate watched it before I did and then watched it again with me. Apparently, you can see her (from behind) shuffling around in the barn with the rest of the walkers in an earlier scene. I didn't catch it, nor did he the first time around, but it's kinda cool that they would put that scene in there to see how close you're paying attention.Moby Dick wrote:Sudden Sam wrote:Too much soap opera shit. I don't really mind the "soap opera shit." I think it'll make it that much more powerful when some of these fully developed characters inevitably get eaten.

Didn't make it very far into Season 2.
Has there been a guest appearance by Henry Winkler and a ski boat yet?
Amazing fizzle, from intriguing to garbage, in very short order.

Sam, check out 28 Days Later. Probably my favorite of the lot. Directed by Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire). It's like a really good indie drama, but with zombies...

Not true zombies in 28DL.

Well, if you want to get all technical, I don't think the word "zombie" has been used once in TWD either, although they are of the classic Romero slow & lumbering variety, unlike the ones in 28DL and the Dawn remake. (Which I also enjoyed, btw. I'm not prejudiced against fast zombies.)Carson wrote:Not true zombies in 28DL.

Excellent use of a pitchfork and shovel in last night's episode.

Just caught up on season 2 today. Started off very slow. Difficult to watch, but now I know why after the barn scene.
Great ending to the season.

Best way to do a season imo. That way youre not stuck waiting 8 months.

I can't watch this show anymore.
The story has hit a wall and there is no drama to it. That shit last night during the birth scene looked like it was written by a ten year old.
It's nothing but a gross-out contest now.

Oh man, you guys missed out.
It was totally epic -- Henry Winkler guest starred, and was bashing zombies' heads in with a waterski.
