Cougar High in game...

Granted the real games are later tonight, but if football is on I am usually watching.

So far Cougar High looks like a mediocre HS team. If Southern Miss wasn't horrible they would be up by 17 with 2 minutes to go in the first quarter. Keenum has 5 straight incompletions at one point. Granted Cougar High still might put up 60, but so could this board against Southern Miss.

Keenum stats: 6-12 for 29 yards, 0-5 on 3rd down, 0-1 on 4th down, 2 sacks.

Still expect UH to score bunches against this defense.

What an awkward game for the Conference, and Both teams.

If Southern Miss wins, they go to a bullshit bowl game, Houston also goes to a bullshit bowl game.

If Houston wins, Southern Miss goes to Bullshit bowl, but will reap the money from Houstons BCS bowl game. Which could be millions to every Conference USA team.

Why the hell can't the Cougars stand up on their own field? There have been at least 10 slips by WR's and RB's for them.

You can't find the correct shoes at home? Either the equipment mgmr needs to be fired or more likely the school doesn't have any money to buy multiple pairs.

Props to USM. Their impending win raises a few interesting questions:

1. Who gets the BCS bid that everyone had Houston penciled in for? I suppose TCU (with 2 losses) could be the BCS-buster if they move up two spots tomorrow. Alternatively, USM could get it if they move up at least eight spots and leapfrog TCU in the standings. Or the last bid could go to Boise (not eligible for AQ, but they could still get an at-large bid). And I suppose it's also possible that a Big XII rep (Okie Light or Kansas State, though not likely Oklahoma) could get an at-large bid.

2. Could USM's win pique the Big East's interest in them? Certainly they're now in position to help the Big East with respect to AQ status (one of the categories is percentage of teams with Top 25 finishes measured against the highest conference.)

Pretty sad state for the Big East that they would even consider adding teams just because it would help them keep their AQ.

As for the BCS I don't see USM getting it with 2 C-USA losses. TCU maybe, but Michigan has to be in for sure.

Orange: ACC vs Big East winner

Oh, and good job, C-USA. Instead of just allowing the regular season to mean something by awarding your championship to the team that already earned it through finishing two games ahead of its CCG game opponent, nope, you just had to go and play this stupid Cash Grab game anyway. Now you've lost out on the much larger paycheck your conference would've shared by sending Houston to the Sugar Bowl.

This is such a tough, tough day. Can't put into words how I feel right now, but I have to tip my cap to the Southern Miss Golden Eagles today. They came ready to play and they absolutely kicked the Coogs' ass today.

Sure, there were points left on the field, but the better team won today. It's disappointing with all that was at stake, but Houston doesn't deserve a BCS bid for the way they played.

My stomach is in knots right now. I need beer and a face to punch repeatedly.
