The real Tailback U. is Cal and has been for the last decade.

Cal has had a 1,000-yard rusher in the backfield in nine of the last ten seasons in Joe Igber (2002), Echemandu (2003), Arrington (2004), Lynch (2005, `06), Forsett (2007), Best (2008) Vereen (2010), and Sofele (2011).

Three of those backs ... Lynch (2006), Forsett (2007) and Best (2008) ... were first-team All-Pac-10 choices. Lynch was also the Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year. Best was a second-team All-Pac-10 selection in 2009, while Vereen was a second-team choice in 2010 after earning honorable mention honors in 2009.

I was in Alabama's corner until the coaches' individual polls were released in the press. What the SEC coaches did on Sunday voting was ethically and morally corrupt. I HATE Oklahoma State but they got royally screwed. How do you justify DROPPING Oklahoma State on your ballot after they utterly destroy a top ten ranked team on prime time television. The SEC coaches should not be allowed a single vote in next years Coaches poll after the stunt they pulled.

The last poll is the only one where the coaches' votes are made public. What makes you think any coaches dropped Oklahoma State?

Looks to me like most everybody felt the same way. Of 6 SEC coaches, they all voted the same except Saban, who had Stanford ahead of the Pokes. Big fuckin' deal.

Some of the coaches allow their votes to be released in their local newspapers after every week. USA today only releases them wholly on their own the final week. That's how people found out.

Gary Pinkel dropped OSU from 3rd to 4th. And don't feed me he is a BIg 12 coach because his future and his interest lays with the SEC not the Big 12.
Steve Spurrier dropped OSU from 2nd to 3rd
David Cutcliffe from 3rd to 4th. Duke coach but is an SEC man at heart and everyone here knows it.

Oklahoma State made up ground because OTHER coaches moved them up in their poll, some multiple places: Frank Beamer, Art Briles, Dave Christenson, Sonny Dykes, Larry Fedora, Bronco Mendenhall, Jeff Quin, Paul Rhoads, Bob Stoops, Kevin Sumlin, Jeff Tedford, Tommy Tubberville, Kevin Wilson, and Ron Zook.

Anybody notice a trend here? Every coach who dropped Oklahoma State on their ballot had an intricate interest in the SEC. As opposed to every other coach whose votes are released to their local fish wrap who either held Oklahoma State in their previous position or moved them up.

Dude you have no clue what Bama would do against a real offense and a balanced attack like OSU has because you haven't faced a single one all season. Stanford would have a much better chance to beat either LSU or Bama. They play defense.

Rushing defense: OSU ranked 84th in the country.
Passing defense: OSU ranked 102nd.

Trent Richardson, Eddie Lacy (bad toe and all), and Jalston Fowler would have run wild.

I'm a USC grad but know SEC football is the best. I love LSU and Alabama and am in the minority of wanting to see a rematch.
Let me preface why I've never played the CFB "pick 'em" contest. I don't get to see all of the teams play. After about a month I get to see many of the teams that are highly ranked to have an opinion.

I wouldn't even have pre-season polls because they're biased by hack sports writers that haven't seen other teams play. Why not let maybe a month or 2 go by and then start the rankings? This would solve the bitching about a play off system since reasonable people could make rational choices for the rankings and then I would ask them to justify their reasoning if it still looked biased.

Sorry Okie State, but don't bitch. Look at Iowa State's record. Boise State has a better argument than Okie Lite.

Get over it mtoo. As long as coaches have votes they SHOULD do all they can to help their program. If Brown or Saban or "I'm 40, I'm a man" isn't voting to help their team or stumping for their team in front of bowl selection committees, then they should be fired.

Now if you want to argue that coaches should have votes that effect millions of dollars, then so be it, but complaining about them doing their job is comical.

Goobs, I thought it was still in there when I did an edit. Now I look back and it's not there. Anyway, Georgia was beating them and after some mistakes the team lost momentum. LSU's defense isn't as good as Alabama's. Georgia had them early and just gave up.

So after seeing Georgia who lost to Boise's gimmick offense when they have months to prepare for real opponents, you can see that Fresno State's next head coach and current Alabama OC will have LSU's ass.

Now of course, the local media has Jim McElwain, Mike Martz, and possibly Dennis Erickson taking over for the fired Pat Hill.

Anyway, it's how the teams match up and Georgia exposed LSU's defense. I guarantee you McElwain is watching that game tape.
