Helluva run because he basically built the PSU program from the ground up. Helluva run because he won two national championships (and had a bunch of other close calls) with a program that had never won any before he arrived. Helluva run because he made his program into a player in a geographic area which basically had no players at that time.

Yes, he stuck around too long, and yes, a bunch of kids had their lives ruined on his watch. That doesn't mean that he did nothing good during his time at Penn State, though.
