Re: Disturbing films
Right....look, Husker, check back with "Dr. Phibes" and maybe he can fill your obviously depleted scrips. Of course I don't roll out any sort of intellectual approach to any subject on this palsied forum, let alone movies . Are you kidding? I mean beside your obviously total fakery to begin with  But when it comes to piano playing, Condi takes a back seat to Nixon. She touts some classical training but actually can't play for shit. I think lack of a soul has something to do with it. Her record as National Security Director was of course the worst in American history--and not only for 9/11. Her tenure as Secretary of State was similarly dismal and disgraceful. She is a weak and hapless total fraud who facilitated--if only by passive inaction--the greatest crime in modern history.
Now there's a disturbing flick to be made--"9/11--The Inside Job" Who would play Condi? Whoopi Goldberg?
Here's the starring cast of heinous criminals...what do you think...Ed Asner as Cheney?

Re: Disturbing films
LTS, of course you call the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, "the greatest crime in history", because you are a very disturbed individual. ONLY a disturbed person such as yourself could twist this around.
Saddam was a mass killer of both women and children. The United Nations didnt care to oppose him, due to the fact that the UN is filled with Muslim nations with murderers of their own.
ONLY a sick depraved mind like yours LTS, can call GW and Condy criminals. EVEN though your beloved Bill Clinton can be viewed saying the exact same things as both Cheney and Bush.
LTS, your mind is so sick and distorted, that when you call GW a criminal, I am this close to having you "baker acted".

Pandorum was good. Not really disturbing, but I liked it.

What do mean "Huh?"..as though you didn't vote for McCain/Palin? Can you even breath without lying? And B-Juice...I mean "Dr. Phibes"...yes Pandorum is good but not disturbing. So who fucking cares? you want disturbing, check out City Of Life And Death, the grim tale of the Japanese devastation of Nanking. now go back to pretending to do do whatever it is you pretend to be.mvscal wrote:LTS TRN 2 wrote:Sorry to break up the Fasci "what if" party, but just because you tedious seething right-wing rats are still pissed that you lost WWII doesn't mean you know shit about films, music, literature, history, philosophy, or the taste of trembling poontang, because you obviously don't. Re: Disturbing films
Well it didn't really touch on what film theorists of the 1970s used, Althusserian Marxism, Brechtian aesthetics, Lacanian psychoanalysis and semiotics to try to expose the ideological workings of mainstream Hollywood cinema and to suggest an avant-garde alternative to mainstream narrative cinema which would trigger the disruption of bourgeois ideological thinking in the audience and its replacement with objective theoretical thinking, echoing Marx's prophesy that under socialism, 'the senses themselves will become directly theoretical'.
We'd best consult King Crimson about this.
hippy.

What's this, your B-Juice fake "socialist' drivel just rolled out automatically because you are one lazy fuckstain? And it's really poorly done--no real satire achieved at parodying the insufferable art-speak, etc. Why...do you even try? Humor us and give us a hint.

Re: Disturbing films
It's irony you fucking twat. Do yourself a favour, look into it.
Re: Disturbing films
No. it's not "irony" at all. It's just a sloppy attempt at satire. Don't you know what irony is? Invented by the Greeks of course, irony is a technique of dramatic suspense--either tragic or comic--where the audience knows something the actor doesn't. Your hack explanation is actually worse than your weak-hammed attempt at comedy. Get your act together.

Meh. Those are all pretty mainstream movies. Nothing wrong with that, but none of them even scratch the surface of truly disturbing violence, torture and depravity compared to other films, like some mentioned in this thread.Terry in Crapchester wrote:Three pages in, and nobody has mentioned any of these?

Re: Disturbing films
salo,
so far, none of you has put forth anything, and I mean ANYTHING even one tenth as disturbing as salo.
Nazis forcing nubile young naked teens to violate one another? Eat each others warm feces? Drink each others warm piss? Nazis jacking off to such depraved acts? And this is only scratching the surface with this film. I actually have seen the directors cut of this grotesque film, deleted scenes and all. And I am here to tell you that I will never ever be the same as a result of viewing this repulsive piece of celluloid.
im damaged goods.

Re: Disturbing films
Husker, you're supposed to take the meds, not tape them to your nipples. Did you even see Salo? There are no Nazis in it at all. Those soldiers portrayed are Italian Black Shirt fascists, and the kids are actors, the feces is fake--there's no urine scenes--and the sex is mannered (which means it is implied with the convention that allows the actors to keep their clothes on while apparently having intercourse). The theme of the film is the collaboration of the Italian aristocracy during the war with the Italian Fascists and the overall German Nazi design. The filmmaker assumes the audience is familiar with the writings and philosophy of Marquis De Sade. And except for the fascinating cast of faces--those decadent aristocrats--the film is rather boring as the long speeches are rolled out pretty much in the flat and tedious style of De Sade.
Another actual candidate for this list might be We Have To Talk About Kevin, a disturbing story of a mother (Tilda Swinton) dealing with the aftermath of her (classic Bad Seed) son having committed a high-school massacre (bow and arrow, pep-rally ). Excellent troubling subtleties in the mother/son relationship and great acting all around.

Re: Disturbing films
I guess I can safely assume that you've not seen the directors cut with the deleted scenes? Certain scenes were cut from the final version of the film, due to the fact that these scenes were so vile and disgusting, that no "civilized" society would tolerate them.LTS TRN 2 wrote:Husker, you're supposed to take the meds, not tape them to your nipples. Do you understand what kind of depravity im talking about here? There are things going on in those deleted scenes that I CANNOT even print here in this forum for fear of my own life.
Until you come to grips with that, I dont know what else there is to tell you.

Re: Disturbing films
An absolute lie, there is no "director's cut" You're a disgrace as a comedian.
Another actual candidate for a truly disturbing film is Melancholia, with Wagner never sounding so right (yikes!) and the death of the planet never seeming so natural. A tough sled through the first half, but its trenchant underwater pace is designed to build up the finale.

Why would I lie? What is there to gain by lying about a sick, vile disgusting film? A film that pretends to have some artistic value, BUT, in reality, is nothing more than kiddie porn.LTS TRN 2 wrote:An absolute lie, there is no "director's cut" You're a disgrace as a comedian.

I didnt say that I own this disgusting film. I merely had the misfortune to view a version that few have ever seen. YOU LTS are mad that you dont have the connections that I do in order to view rare cinema. AND as a result, you lash out with, "LIAR LIAR panties on FIRE".

I think it has Dinsy.
"World's Greatest Dad" directed by Bobcat Goldthwaite is creepy but funny. Robin Williams' son asphyxiates during a choking session and some real hyjinx ensue when he covers it up. There is also a nude scene at the end that I think everyone will enjoy.

Re: Disturbing films
Good flick, but not disturbing--unless you're a bi-sexual New York SOHO party vamp who can't get laid. I thought the film expressed one actual interesting idea when the scientist who had tracked the UFO to the NYC apartment roof asks the disbelieving kids, "Why..do you suppose they would have to be big?"DELSDAD wrote:I think someone did mention Silence.

I thought of this one.
And Wonderland was properly grim and bloody, but in a cool sort of action flick style. Val Kilmer's last good role?
Trainspotting was a flat-out dark comedy, complete with happy ending, so...no.
Okay, a truly disturbing flick was released last year, and some of you actually voted for this malignant creature..
