I was gonna start this thread last night. Looks like Carter and Richards have all-time
on Snider. Fucking idiot. Oh, and the Flyers still don't have a goalie.

Not sure what they saw in BREEZEgalov.
You forgot to mention Simon Gagne as well.
I wonder how much of a play the Flyers make for Luongo now.

Why not? He's expensive and he sucks. We all know how much the Flyers love that tandem.MuchoBulls wrote:I wonder how much of a play the Flyers make for Luongo now.

Breezegalov was pretty good with Phoenix, but I don't think people realized how good the team around him was and gave him too much credit.MuchoBulls wrote:Not sure what they saw in BREEZEgalov.
Re: Do you think Ed Snider
The lack of reliable goaltending is a greater issue for the Flyers than dealing away Richards and Carter. Plus, the fact Pronger can't stay healthy. They added four pieces in those trades that are going to help them going forward for two guys that failed to deliver for them and they signed long deals. Giroux has become their best player...I'd argue he's better than Richards or Carter was for them. Plus, it's not like those two are leading the Kings...they're playing a secondary role. Kopitar and Brown are the leaders of that team and 32 in net is pretty good too. Trading those two didn't backfire but they'll regret giving Bryzgalov that long contract.

He shrunk in the playoffs...I saw it first hand with the way the Wings beat him. This year, he stunk less than Fleury in the first round and then got clowned by old man Brodeur in the Eastern semis. Phoenix is a bit of a smoke and mirrors show...Tippett is what makes that team successful.

Re: Do you think Ed Snider
I know but that was also a 2 vs. 7. Yes, I know the Kings are an 8 seed, but sometimes in the playoffs with bad matchups, certain teams are just heads and shoulders better. Much like you'd see when the Wings would play Calgary in the first round in the early 00s, the Flames were scrappers but the Wings were in class of their own.Shoalzie wrote: He shrunk in the playoffs...I saw it first hand with the way the Wings beat him.
Re: Do you think Ed Snider
Bad goaltending gets exposed in the playoffs and good teams can get bounced by a hot goalie. Just from watching the Wings, I've had to see guys like Rinne, Kiprusoff, Roloson, Giguere, Potvin...I can go on...rise up and beat them. Nashville was the better team this year but in most years, the difference in getting out of the first round was running into a hot goalie (and poor shot selection by the Wings).

Re: Do you think Ed Snider
How many Stanley Cups did the Flyer win with Richards, Carter and Gagne? The Kings rode Jamie Quick all the way to a Stanley Cup championship.
This not to take away from Richards or Carter but let's face it.. both were underperforming malcontents who built up a reputation in Philly of being more concerned with partying at the Jersey shore than anything else. Jeff Carter especially deserves to be called out for half-assing it on ice like a child who doesn't get his way in order to get traded from Columbus. It was a joke how that went down.
Gagne couldn't stay healthy, went to Tampa and had the same issues. He didn't lose his balance when he almost dropped the cup last night. He suffered a concusion just holding it over his head.
