I guess they must do things a little differently in Spain. Here we just get packs of feral nigggers tearing apart someone's business.

"Ode to Joy" will never not kick ass. I find more evidence of God's existence in Beethoven's 9th than in every word ever written about Him in the Bible or elsewhere.
Goobs, that was tremendous.

No, it would have been tremendous if it was an actual flashmob, not something scripted for a Mastercard commercial.

Not entirely sure I'm digging this new Coquettefelice bent you've been on in recent months. At least for me, the epic esotericism you're attempting to apply to every post these days is beginning to grate.

I would not have clicked on that link had it not been for that endorsement.
Re: Flashmob
Mgo, believe it or not, nope, I've never seen A Clockwork Orange. In fact, I've always gone out of my way to avoid seeing it.
Okay, so that clip shows a super gay-looking Malcolm McDowell mentioning "the ultraviolence" in a narrative voiceover while his malevolently decadent-seeming character sporting Lady Gaga eyelashes drinks milk on the set of a German porn flick. Clue me in as to what that has to do with Beethoven's 9th or its connection to God?

Re: Flashmob
Mgo, I've avoided that movie because it's always looked very ugly, from the movie poster to every clip I've ever seen. Bace's clip there is a perfect example. It has the usual stark, soulless, post-Apocalyptic feel that I just can't stand, and certainly won't voluntarily subject myself to over the course of a couple hours.
I feel the same about snuff films and all those "which film is the most disturbing/disgusting?" threads that always pop up on this board. I have zero interest in seeing any of that crap. That's just me. I seek beauty and grace in art, and possibly even thoughtful relevance. I have no desire to bear further witness to the ugliness I'm already subjected to simply by living in this world.
Never saw any Star Wars or Star Trek flicks either, also intentionally. Skipped Avatar too. I just don't do Sci-Fi.
In any case, I apologize to Bace. His comment makes sense now, and in fact it wasn't even that oblique of a reference. It's not his fault that I'm probably one of only thirteen people in my basic demographic who hasn't seen A Clockwork Orange.

book is about the dark places a spoiled young man and his friends go when given freedom. society steps in and tries to subdue the man with science and psychology. doesn't quite work and the man is left unable to defend himself from those with freedom.

Nice one. I'm sure that was aimed at Van, though, since he's indicated his love for your references.

Well, yes, but society in Clockwork Orange was a shambles. Van's pre-read of the flick in terms of the post-apocalyptic caught the intended vibe correctly. A totalitarian government stepped in to clear the prisons of criminals in order to make room for political prisoners. A sort of government that was ready to give the people a sense of security at the expense of freedom.
