Agreed. California has the third largest refining capacity in the country behind Louisiana and Texas. Texas refines as much or more as Louisiana and California combined but there is a huge drop off after the top three.
California would do just fine on its own in a SHTF scenario. We've got plenty of natural resources of all types.
