For years I used to post a challenge about getting some of you guys between the lines and officiating football. I haven't posted it in a few years cause only one person ever took me up on it. Blind ref (is he still around) and I both though Frozen, believe would have been a great official but we couldn't get him out.
What made me think of this was an email I got from the one guy who took me up on the challenge back in the Rome board days. Dude is now calling D-III college in WI/MN area.
So with that in mind I will throw out the challenge again.
I will pay all of your fees and uniform costs for your first year if you give it a shot. I will find you local association, make the contact for you, pay their dues, and send you a uniform. You just have to commit to being all in for the season. After a season if it isn't for you, just walk away. But I bet you won't.
Football Officials challenge, take my money...

I started the process years ago if you'll recall. Already was a certified baseball umpire.
My divorce and cancer brought it to a halt. Since then I founded and operate my own firm so it's pretty unfeasible to pick it up. Not too mention all the medical issues have wreaked havoc on my body; I seriously doubt I could keep up on the field anymore and if I did my back would probably feel completely raped after one night.

Notify me next year. I'll do DCIAA games (the ones that don't end up forfeited) and the local charters if they'll let me and I'll be open to Arlington.Left Seater wrote:I will pay all of your fees and uniform costs for your first year if you give it a shot. I did hockey and baseball for a number of years and recently I thought about doing basketball for side cash.
