If there's a power pole down, and a busted fire hydrant...
Stay...the fuck...away.
2 women electrocuted trying to help at crash scene
Irma Zamora ran into the electrified water at the Valley Village site and was killed. Another woman died trying to help her. Officials call them heroes.

I disagree....electricity is quite popular among darwin finalists....not as popular as guns, but popular none the less
I would assume "Darwin" would apply to someone suffering consequences as the result of doing something reckless or idiotic, not trying to save the life of someone in distress, you tedious crybaby.

The operative word here is trying. She gets no rack for charging blindly into a situation that she failed to evaluate and assess properly, IF she even possessed that skill set, and promptly became a victim herself. A rational and educated, or one even slightly trained in EMS type services would have had better situational awareness, and looked at all hazard factors, potential factors before blindly charging in and becoming an additional liability to EMS, and in this case getting herself fryed.
Never become a victim yourself is pounded into your head from day one EMS and fire and cop training. Not understanding the relationship between short circuited electricity, standing water and other factors, and then charging ahead has to have some Darwin credit.

She was immediately –- and fatally — electrocuted, struck by what firefighters estimate was 48,000 volts of electricity.
given the fact that the first woman's husband told her to stay in the car, she should have listened.....here's a tip for ya sport, if you see a 50 kv power line down I'd stay the fuck away if I were you....it's not like you wouldn't notice it-a downed power line of that size gives off lots of sparks and shit and makes this really weird humming sound.....you'd almost have to be purposely ignoring it to miss it.....if somebody is not smart enough to know that an overhead power line is going to deliver enough juice to light up a neighborhood, they probably don't deserve to live, no matter how "heroic" their intentions were....

Haste makes waste. Still seems like Darwin gets the bode points here for someone not knowing what they were about to do was going to be fatal.
You know what "Darwin" is?
Darwin is you railing on about taxes while your sub-moronic offspring pull a government welfare cheque because they were (genetically) too stupid to stay in school and instead will spend the rest of their days shitting in a bag or dribbling on a psychiatrist's couch.

You are truly one of the worst pieces of shit to ever post on this board. Start giving up your paycheck for reparations now and then you can shut the fuck up about your racist blasts.

Yeah, but not everyone is capable of retaining that sort of thing. This dumbass cop walked right into an ammonia leak.
I'm an emergency responder, HAZMAT and REACTS member, and on the fire brigade team. First rule as an emergency responder is to contact backup and identify the hazards before approaching anything.
The lady didn't know any better, but the cop completely whiffed on his efforts and it cost him his life.

I'm not a hazmat worker or an EMT or anything like that. I think it's pretty common knowledge that you don't approach a downed powerline and you don't step into a pool of water with a downed powerline sitting in it.
Disclaimer: I did work as an electrician for about 5 years but I knew that shit as a child. Maybe my elementary school was just better at teaching basic safety than most.
