Gotta Run!

Post by ML@Coyote »

A poem without profanity...

It's been fun
But I gotta run
I know good bye posts are lame

But I gotta sigh
And say good bye
And hit the road just the same

Thank you all
For not piling on
While I looked around for Luth

You were most polite
While I set my sights
And became the successful sleuth

Some of you are familiar
And many are new
But it's great to see all of you here

Bickering and fighting
And arguing and agreeing
And cutting down on your beer

Those of you
Who knew me when
You know I had trouble knowing when to end

But as I've grown older
I've learned when to stop typing
And when to strap on a fresh pair of Depends

So adios amigos
Time to light the fuse
And rocket away into the end of this old summer

With my crosshairs focused
I'm back on the road
After that confounded Roadrunner!
So what do you think of that? No swearing? No dildo gifs? No smack of any kind?
Take care.

You are truly one of the worst pieces of shit to ever post on this board. Start giving up your paycheck for reparations now and then you can shut the fuck up about your racist blasts.

Let Luther know he'd get per diem for resurrecting the death pool in here....

Good.

Stay away, Luther.

It's pleasurable to remember you as you were - svelte and in full bloom.
Legging doubles into triples, tard meter fun, and going yard on Bob the Boob.

Don't really have the stomach to watch you falling down in the outfield.

Yes, stay in your Irie man cave - or tap away at the Bluehair Winnebago Wheezer Vaca Board, or whatever the hell.

Just stay out of here and leave us to our memories.

Hello ML...been a lonnnnng fuggin' time. How have you been?

On the off-chance you check back into this place, drop me a pm. I still snake through this board on occasion, slithering between the threads. The more things change the more they stay the same. Still, if you stick around a bit longer, I can bet the old coot Luther might just make an appearance, maybe just to spite poptart. Hell, if we can dig up MCAT, Paintboy, Sandman or even dust the cobwebs off the gills of Catfish, we might just get a glimmer of the old board magic that used to put the 'tards to shame.

That's too bad to hear. ML once told me a story in private of what the nic "ML@Coyote" represents. It is simplicity at its finest in choosing that nic. He also told me a story of his past that I've remembered over the years. I'll never forget it.

This is how I remember Luther before he went nuts.

Don't count the 'Yote out of circulation just yet AP. Things aren't always what they appear to be.

I too was given the origin of the nic, as well as some of the desert-dogs' background. Too bad some of this current crop of knuckleheads don't share the same posting histories we do, or else ML's return would've been met with more of the respect (and fear...shudder) it deserved. He was/is one of the brightest, funniest and most original writers that ever tapped a keyboard.

So, what's this noise about Luther going bonkers? Did something happen to the old coot during my recent in absentia? Last I heard, he was just basking in the glow of his retirement, fusing his fingers down to flaming nubs with his lighter whilst igniting his smelly stogies. I mean, I know the guy is dropping body parts faster than a leper in an acid bath, but last I checked, his synapses were still firing more-or-less correctly.

I certainly remember ML, going back a dozen years or more. One thing I don't have the faintest memory of is feeling fear on a messageboard.

Goobs...you should know me well enough after all these years to ascertain that "fear" was implied with full sarcasm intended.

The tongue-in-cheek out front should have told you.

I figured it was hyperbole, but whatever. Some of y’all aren’t anywhere near as legendary as you believe. I know I’m not.

Gawd, what a misnomer that is. Legendary? Not in mind. Just a different time and a different style. And more entertaining, IMHO.

Different strokes and all. (Oh crap, I said "stroke". That should send Derron flaming in, fluids a flying!)

Retirement changes your priorities and, trust me, there are far better ways to spend your time than posting on a messageboard. I initially thought that I might spend more time on this board after retirement but have found that I prefer golf and fishing to computer time. I haven't heard from Luther for a very long time and hope that he's enjoying his retirement as much as I am. It's nice to see ML popping up in a thread or two, and I always enjoy reading Jay's offerings, but I can't see spending much time here until I get bored during an Iowa winter. We spent last weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks (second trip there this year) and hope to do more traveling after my wife retires in a couple of years.....with Hawaii and Mexico being at the top of my list. I highly recommend retirement to everyone....it's awesome, and my pension and social security are netting me more income than when I was working....at least for now, so all of you youngsters need to remain fully employed and keep those social security benefits coming my way.

The downside of my retirement so far.......the Hawkeyes are playing football like the Cubs play baseball, and my golf game sucks, but the fishing has been good.

I can't be sure... but I recall a consultation I had with ole Luth a couple years ago. I had mentioned casually to Luth that I was having some disturbing bowel occurances, actually the lack of occurances, elemination problems to be precise. Well Luth intimated that he too was having trouble taking a dump. Now since taking a healthy one was something Luth greatly enjoyed, he was quite distressed at the prospect of losing one of his favorite pastimes. Admittedly, I don't posess the memory of Jay in Phoenix nor the writting ability of ML@Coyote, or the mental bandwidth of BSmack, but as I recall....we touched on several possibilities including, rectal prolapse, constipation, IBS, or maybr just a miserable case of the rhoids.
I mentioned to Luth that my daughter (some of you may remember her from my accident) was now a Dr. and suggested I try psyllium husk. I told Luth it certainly made a difference, and I no longer had to bivouac into the comode area.
His response was troubling..."I'll give er a try CM, but if it doesn't work I don't know what state of mind I'll regress to".
Subsequently, I came across another gem, the "Squatty Potty". It may be too late, but Luth, hey bud, if your out there...give this a try. The logic is sound, and it may be just the ticket.
