Ryder Cup
the biannual melee is upon us....so many questions
how bad will the Euros curb stomp the Americans this year?
I don't think this will even be that close, unless the US rookies do something I don't think they can.....
those members of the US team that have played the Ryder Cup have an abysmal record....so where does the US hope lie?
homefield?

Re: Ryder Cup
If I were DL3, I would pair the team as follows for Friday Foursomes and Fourballs, in this order:
Foursomes:
Mickelson/Bradley
Furyk/Snedeker
Dufner/Z. Johnson
Woods/Stricker
Fourballs:
Mickelson/Bradley
D. Johnson/Kuchar
Watson/Simpson
Woods/Stricker
Foursomes:
Mickelson/Bradley
Furyk/Snedeker
Dufner/Z. Johnson
Woods/Stricker
Fourballs:
Mickelson/Bradley
D. Johnson/Kuchar
Watson/Simpson
Woods/Stricker
Re: Ryder Cup
Good pairs, Bigman -- I noticed as a general rule, you have a long hitter paired with an accurate hitter. Seems like a wise setup.

Re: Ryder Cup
ditto....you've got steady players coupled with cats that can go on a tear....any bets on whether those (or anything akin to them) are the pairings?Dinsdale wrote:Good pairs, Bigman -- I noticed as a general rule, you have a long hitter paired with an accurate hitter. Seems like a wise setup.
I just don't know if I'd be sending phildo out in any pairings.....the guy has pretty much sucked monkey cack all year....

Re: Ryder Cup
Almost nailed foursomes pairings. First two are reversed on DL3's sheet.

And Nick follows it up by hitting every hazard on the course.
What the hell is happening? USA is starting to boatrace the Euros.

Re: Ryder Cup
poulter is just scary good when he gets to this format....I've never understood why that cat doesn't win more....five birdies in a row under those circumstances is just crazy.....

Snedeker, Furyk, Kuchar, Mickelson, Watson, Stricker, Simpson, Bradley....the murderers row of chokers.

Re: Ryder Cup
Epic fail is an understatement...that was as painful to watch as the last minute of the Buc's game was.
Go Bucs, Gators

Re: Ryder Cup
agree...awful
US had a ton of momentum in the middle of the matches it seemed (saw US up in 4 and Eurpoe up in 3) at one time I believe then it all just disappears...
credit that fucker Rose...dude poured in TWO HUGE putts to take that match from Phil...Furyk and Stricker...ugh...two putts...wow...especially Furyks...I hate that fucking faggot Garcia and to see him win...fuck that pussy
Europe summoned some luck, great play down the stretch and the Americans could do nothing to stop it...
what did you guys think of Love's lineup? I know Bubba asked to go early...but not sure I would have put him against Donald...he made a go of it...but someone like Simpson or Keegs might have been better batting lead off...

Re: Ryder Cup
So depressed. You get one shot at this every two years. Then you have it wrapped up on home turf and can't close. Brutal.
I liked Love's lineup. Bubba first makes sense, get the crazy guy out early, get the crowd going if he can get some red on the board, and then it's an onslaught. Sort of like Kim leading off at Valhalla in '08.
Snedeker getting drummed by Lawrie was a killer.
Rose dropping bombs on 16-18 was a killer.
Furyk's loss to Garcia was the clincher, that was awful.
Hiding Stricker and Woods in the back was the right move, it should have been over before they made the turn.
Fucking Ian Poulter.
GODDDAMMMMMMMIIIIIIIIIT!!!

Re: Ryder Cup
That was one of the most amazing sports tournies I've ever seen -- too bad my team ended up on the wrong end of it.
Almost everybody on both teams played lights-out on Sunday.
But The New Champ was pretty much brutal the whole time. Stricker was none too impressive, either.
Tigre didn't get a point (well, a half on the unfinished match), but was dropping birds like they were going out of style. Don't know if playing against him pumped the opponent up, or if it was just his luck that he faced the red-hot players the whole time.
Some of the attitudes at the closing ceremonies (yeah, I watched like a dork) were a little disturbing. Keegs and Duffy didn't show a whole lot of class -- one of the vets needs to give them a talking-to.
Fucking Seve -- fucker did it to everyone again... from the freaking grave. That's kind of his style, though. King of the Unlikely Victory.

Re: Ryder Cup
he's the guy that single handedly brought the Ryder Cup to the forefront.....I've never seen and will never see anybody that could pull off shots like that guy....sure I hate to see the Americans lose, but that was some outfucking standing golf yesterdayDinsdale wrote:Fucking Seve -- fucker did it to everyone again...

Re: Ryder Cup
No one could duff two crappy shots to somewhat near te geen, then walk away with birdie like Seve could.
Seems like fucker rarely putted -- missed the green, then chipped it in on every freaking hole.
His buddy Ollie was pretty good at that, too.
