You're not paying attention.

Kentucky a 14 point favorite over ANYBODY?

Vegas gave out a rare freebie.

You really should keep this stuff to yourself.

That's why I waited until after the deadline to post this.

...and that was one of the Vegas lines, wasn't it, 88? It was pulled after it had already hit the board.

I see the issue here -- Miss St GOT 14.5, when the sports books have them GIVING 14.5.

Oh well, no one ever claimed 88&Co were perfect... same game for everybody.

On a related note, in my morning haste to get my picks in (NWestern/PSU kicked off about 2 minutes after I submitted), I forgot to grab my go-to, and forgot TCU (-11.5 against ISU) just gave their starting QB the boot a couple of days ago.

And if thursday night's USC/Utah was on the board here, I would have taken the Utes +14.5 without a second thought. Thursday night homedogs are always money.

In all fairness to 88 and the game picker peoples, this has been a big deal in betting circles this week so I don't hold it against the game picker peoples. The early lines that came out from Caesar's Palace had a major mistake, the Kentucky favorite over Miss State, and there are so many bookmaking establishments that follow their lead that it caused havoc. The betting late Sunday night and early Monday morning, until it was caught, was substantial. It was so substantial that many off shore establishments put betting on that game to a halt out of fear of third party heavy bets backed by Vegas casinos causing them to sustain significant losses.

I usually catch these kinds of things, since my Pick 'Em ritual usually involves comparing those lines with the most recent ones in the paper. But after a dismal start to the season, I just printed out a Pick 'Em sheet, closed my eyes and dropped my finger 9 times. We'll see how it goes...
