Re: early games 11/3
at a hard working ISU game in Ames is exactly the kind of game this era Sooners will lose.
something is missing from this group going back a couple years. you have to play football to beat Rhodes these days....Sooners act like they just out-talent people.

Remember -- when the low hanging fruit of the SEC picks each other off, it's because the conference is a "meatgrinder."
When any other conference's crap beats each other up, it's because that conference sucks.

And, so far, they've been able to "out-talent" the Cyclones and are leading 35-20 late in the 4th. Iowa State is a much improved team, and Rhodes is an outstanding coach, but it doesn't look like they can overcome the talent today.King Crimson wrote:at a hard working ISU game in Ames is exactly the kind of game this era Sooners will lose.

I'd like to know where the heck that Mizzou D has been all year. Was out running errands, didn't get to watch any of the first half but listened to it on the radio some. Got home in time to catch the entire 2nd half and if Franklin could've hit some wide open receivers instead of over throwing by the distance of the 314 to the 816, they'd have won that game going away. 4 Ints, fuck!
Still, I'm proud of those boys. They played their hearts out and had a chance to win until the final seconds.

The reason the Mizzou D hasn't looked that good all season is because they haven't seen an offense in anywhere near the league of suckitude of Florida's.

The Big East and MAC aren't too far off of being as good top-to-bottom as the SEC and PAC. MAC might be deeper.
At least the PAC has a division (1 2/3rd seasons, and talking of "divisions" still seems weird) that is 50% good.

LSU is half a very good team... the half that plays defense.
UGA is pretty darn good, too... when they feel like it (there's one of those every season, I guess it's UGA's turn... again)
The rest is garbage.
The PAC has Oregon, OS, and while I'm with the rest of the country in that I love bashing USC... USC is good -- they just lost a couple to teams who played out of their minds (gotta be ready for teams to be "up" for you). The second-tier of ASU and UCLA actually aren't too horrible.
I think Kentucky and Vandy would smoke the dregs of the PAC (that doesn't include CU -- they have to improve a bunch to be considered a "football team") at least 9 out of 10. Auburn would drop 100 on CU, although Congress would have to step in and cancel that fucker if it was on the schedule... could cause a weird hurricane due to the vortex that the sucking would create or something.
I think the 12 is slightly more solid than the PAC and SEC... but not by much.

Please don't say Louisville.
OK, I won't say it.
But my recently adopted Bandwagon appears to be pretty freaking good... not sure.
Remember -- just because they "haven't played anyone," it doesn't mean Bama and Oregon suck, either.
I'd love to see U of L play someone very good... which won't happen until the BCS Bowl (Orange?).
BUT... they do have the best player (maybe)... there's that. And not even a mention for Heisman... not sure how that works.
Poor Loisville -- they were supposed to be the ABC game out here this morning, but undefeated UL got bumped for another game.
Rutgers was playing really good defense, until the pooped last week to a terrible Temple offense. Cincinatti isn't that bad.
I think the BE is a little better than people think it is.
And I'm pretty sure ND isn't laughing at the Big East right about now.

That right there is an amazingly, insightful take.KC Scott wrote:Some big pieces could fall into place for K-State tonight if Pitt holds on, LSU can surprise and USC doesn't SUC
