We used to have a lot of nutria around here, but thanks to the efforts of a couple of generations of 10 to 12 year old boys with .22s and shot guns, they are down a lot. Dumb slow ass things. Coyotes catch them out on the ground real easy too. Non natives here..I try and pop one or two when I need crab bait too.

I am assuming that you take that big screen and all that gear back and forth. Don't see how the other coon asses would not steal that stuff.

One of the best duck hunting years in our area. The last several years actually. One of my neighbors went hunting in Montana, and was coming back down the Columbia Gorge at night. Said all you saw was the red lights blinking on the fucking wind turbines. He talked to some farmers up in that area that said the last 5 to 7 years those turbines have been in, the geese and ducks just keep flying..don't even stop in the area.

The farmers in our area have had a lot of increased depradation from geese in that same time frame. Flocks will land in a wheat field and just mow the young winter wheat. Wipe the whole fucking field out in an hour. They spend about 3 or more hours per day driving the fields, shooting at them and sending dogs after them.

You guys could roll pretty good up here in the U & L. But we don't bother with that pulled pork shit. Elk, venison and moose would be on that menu, with salmon too.

Nutria are swamp rats, the guy has about a dozen of them in his boat. They dig up and feed on vegetation, which destroys the marsh. There was an effort a few years back to try to reduce their population by trying to convince us that they taste good. They don't, at least not compared to all the other stuff we can get around here. They do eat them in China I think. The guy will get paid three times, once by the state as a bounty for killing them, the meat goes to make food for animals, and also he'll sell the fur. That guy also hunts alligators, by himself, that is insane to me.

Is there anything in the "meat" category that chinks won't fry up? Pretty sure chinese fall somewhere between maggots and possums on the meat pickiness spectrum.
