As far as that.50 cal goes, I got to pull the trigger on an Armalite 50 on Sunday. Kicked like a fucking mule, but made a 1500 meter shot with it. Seriously bad ass weapon.

MK211 is only sold to military/LE. I'm sure there is some out there that "fell off a truck" or something and there are also a lot of counterfeits. API is available but not nearly as effective as the Raufoss rounds.

Just heard on Fox News that the guy got a dishonorable discharge.

I highly doubt he got a DD, most likely an OTH discharge, but your average news reader thinks there are two types of discharges, honorable and dishonorable. In reality a DD is very rare. Pretty much gotta kill someone or commit treason.

After reading some of his manifesto, I was thinking that maybe there was a good bit of truth in his ramble, but knowing that he got something other than an honorable discharge from the reserves, I suspect that he is just a shitbag loser.

Hopefully the cops smoke his sorry ass soon.

Usually anything other than an honorable is a deal killer as far as being in law enforcement. Something else is going on there.

The way I read is that he was kicked out of the Navy Reserves after getting fired from the LAPD. Maybe lost his security clearance as a result and couldn't continue in his role?

The LA Times said they found footprints leading from his truck into the snow off Forest Road 2N10 and Club View Drive in Big Bear Lake. Those two roads don't actually intersect but are close.
