Sad day for country

Post by Felix »

George Jones passed away at 81......
old time hardcore country (not everybody's cup of tea) but I grew up listening to George, Merle, Johnny C, etc. learned a great appreciation for those artists when I was spinning up country while DJ'ing on a local country station.....

two of his best

later remade by Aaron Neville...a great song
get out, get out while there's still time

Best pure country singer ever. Period. He sang the best love songs, the best breakup songs, the best drinking songs and the best cheating songs. Oh, and he had the best voice ever. RIP Possum.

Not the biggest country fan in the world, but, you have to give it up for Possum. One of the greatest voices ever, in any genre. My wife is a big garth fan, so I have heard his duet with George. Garth, being a classy dude does admit that he gets his ass kicked bad.
