7 win Steve to USC
Sark going to be named the head coach. Might not be able to coach, but he will recruit his ass off.
-edit-
I might have to retract that last comment. Looks like Eddie O is not staying on at USC. That will hurt their recruiting.

Should U-Dub go ahead and hire Kiffin?

Re: 7 win Steve to USC
Could be an interesting domino effect. Isn't Mora a UW alum?

I'm pretty sure he coached under Don James at one point. Or at least his dad did.
Looks like SC is sticking with the Pete Carroll descendants. Kinda surprised here, thought they could land a bigger name.

Re: 7 win Steve to USC
Just a hunch:
http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/college- ... ball-coach
USC has hired Washington's Steve Sarkisian as its new coach, multiple sources told ESPN.
Sarkisian took over at Washington in 2009 and led the Huskies to a 34-29 record (24-21 Pac-12) in five seasons. Washington is 8-4 this season and finished third in the Pac-12 North with a 5-4 conference record. Washington did not play USC this season.
Sarkisian interviewed with USC over the weekend, a source told ESPN. Boise State's Chris Petersen was a top candidate but withdrew from consideration, according to the source. Vanderbilt's James Franklin is also a candidate for the job, the source said.
Sarkisian was an assistant at USC for seven seasons (2001 to 2003 and 2005 to 2008).
In 2007 and 2008, he was the Trojans' assistant head coach and offensive coordinator. When Sarkisian was on USC's staff under coach Pete Carroll, the Trojans were 74-15 -- 22-3 when he was offensive coordinator.
At USC, Sarkisian worked with two Heisman Trophy winners -- quarterbacks Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart.
USC has made it known to interim coach Ed Orgeron that it values his contributions to the program and would like him to stay in some capacity. The Trojans went 6-2 under Orgeron after athletic director Pat Haden fired Lane Kiffin on Sept. 28.

Re: 7 win Steve to USC
I think fast Eddie O is a better Indian than Chief. The guy that would have scared the absolute piss out of me was Franklin from Vandy. That dude has the personality that would have fit right in at USC.Papa Willie wrote:Dumb move. I think they've got the guy they need at the helm right now.
By the way, what are the odds that schmickity posts something about Haden being a domer lover who wants to ruin the program and this is all part of his grand plan?

Regardless of whatever sentimental value the geography could induce, he ain't going anywhere.schmick wrote:Washington will likely go after Jim Mora Jr
Udub would not be an upgrade.
Curious though, that we fired the RB coach, Steve Broussard today....odd timing....

From now on, I want you to start all of your Pat Haden comments with "USC alum."

Re: 7 win Steve to USC
Orgeron reportedly quits rather than working for Sark...Even though Orgeron is Marv Goux -like, it would be kinda fun if Mora went after him as a recruiting coordinator or other some such position...might get back at SCum for hiring Ken Norton Jr.....

Re: 7 win Steve to USC
He's at least more qualified to lead that program than Lame but it's another "he once was in the family" hire.
Re: 7 win Steve to USC
Good to know that SC will remain a second class program, at best, for the foreseeable future.

Wow, he did spend one whole semester there before leaving. You essentially hired toolio to be your coach. Props.

They offered Klemm a million to come over & coach their OL....he told them to fuck off. Kinda like Coach Savage did with similar attempts...Means if they can't BUY greatness they'll have to revert back to cheating.
