Politics are disgusting

Post by trev »

Obama has endorsed the democratic San Diego mayoral candidate. Something stinks here. Tomorrow is election day to replace the last mayor these dumb people elected. It's a tight race, neck and neck. Apparently it will all come down to getting those Latinos out to vote, since they have the numbers.

We the people made it that way. The politicians understand that the people want their Us weekly, E!, TMZ, etc.

We have a similar thing in Texas for the race for Gov. Wendy Davis made the D's all warm and fuzzy because she successfully filibustered a law that would have required abortion providers in Texas to have hospital admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles and for the abortion facilities to be required to meet the same standards as surgical centers. Another version of that same law was later passed.

But the D's got all excited and saw in Wendy someone that could challenge for Gov. So millions of $ poured in from around the country and her handlers got to work on her wonderful story. Soon we learned that she was a single teen mother who lived in a trailer, put herself thru college and Harvard Law, and then rose thru the political ranks to reach her spot in the Texas Senate.

Turns out that story was mostly fabricated. Yes she was a single mom, but turns out not when she was a teen. She divorced when she was 21. Before her first divorce was even final she met her next husband while working for her father. They dated and married and lived in a fancy Ft Worth neighborhood. She then went to Jr College and TCU. During this time she and her second husband had a child. Then when she graduated she went to Harvard. She didn't work after marrying her second husband so we know his income was used to pay for her JC and TCU tuition. Then in 92 he took out a loan and cashed out his 401K. During the time she was in Boston he cared for his daughter and her first daughter. Then the day after he paid the final loan payment in 2003 she filed for divorce. As part of this divorce he got custody of the girls and she had to pay child support.

Clearly she and D's don't care about the truth of her life, they just want a story they can sell to suburban soccer moms. Now that that boat has sunk she is making desperate grabs at anything to keep afloat. Last week she came out in favor of open carry. That just pissed of the D's.

Look at the end of the day the R's are going to vote for the R candidate and the D's are going to vote for the D candidate. That isn't going to change anytime soon. The media will then tell us the battle is for those "undecided" voters in the middle. The talking heads will vomit up moderate, middle, progressive, etc. That is crap. If adults don't know what the hell they stand for they likely aren't voting. Plus there are very few truly undecided voters out there. Further the more either a D or R candidate moves to the middle the less likely they are to turn out their base on election day. Elections today are which side can turn out more of their supporters.

Perhaps I'm missing something here.
Yes, you are missing something. But I don't think you are really that dumb.

I think this makes Obama look like bad for doing this. He doesn't even know the guy.
