I'm somewhat OK with the cash-grab games, but they shouldn't count as either a win or a loss. Count them as "exhibition" games. The only reason I say this is because it's often a major source of funding for smaller school ADs, which should always be played against in-state public schools (it's good for the taxpayers in the state).

The Texas non conf schedule is very respectable this year thru 2023. BYU and UCLA the season. Then at least one of the following is one the schedule each year thru 2023:

Notre Dame
USC
Arkansas
Ohio State

Then mix in Maryland and UNC in addition to the above.

The best team you guys played in the non-conference since 2006 was Notre Dame. You played Miami and Florida State but neither were very good when you played them. I know those were scheduled years in advance. Who knew the "U" would be 5-7 when you played them? We played UCLA, Ohio State and Ole MIss.

The fact is, team make their schedule years in advance. The marquee games are going by the wayside. That sucks. But to say Texas doesn't play anyone is a joke. We in-fact do schedule good teams and good games. It's not our fault if they suck when the game arrives.

We played North Carolina, Virginia, Notre Dame, Stanford, UCLA, and Arkansas on the road before 2007. During the same period OU played Northwestern, Cal, Louisville, Notre Dame, UCLA, and Alabama.

Yet, you are trying to claim that somehow SC is better because it has only played Fresno State twice in that time frame, '14 and '05.

You must have forgotten that SC played San Jose State in '09, '01 and '00. or

San Diego State in '99, '98 and '92. or

Colorado State in '04, or Idaho in '07. or

How about the fact you scheduled Cougar High right after they went on probation in '93, '95 and '96.

Or worse yet you scheduled Rice and other programs like them. See also Duke, Northwestern, Baylor and others.

So you haven't played one lower level FBS school each season like Texas or OU, instead you have rotated those games among multiple teams.
