Hockey doesn't need widespread fisticuffs to be a top sport. It needs the NHL owners to give up about 10 rows of seats so the ice sheet can be expanded to Olympic size. They need to emphasize skating and passing rather than clutching and grabbing. But I certainly understand a wet-brained fucktard like suckaholic thinking that an all-out brawl is the best part of hockey. It's probably also the best part of his family life.

Excellent take, though I'd rather NHL expand the ice by 7 1/2 feet rather than 15. I really like the international game but I also love North American hockey for what it is. Both are different styles and both are great for what they are.

I don't see the ice getting any larger any time soon. The issue is partly owners greed, but also an issue with multi-purpose arenas that see NBA games as well. Most of these dual purpose arenas today would have to have their lower bowl seating completely redone, or seats on the glass for NHL games are going to be 5 feet above the top of the boards.

LOL, I think it's the reason why guys like you and I like the college game. Guys aren't as huge (sup Irie Lagos) and they get a little more ice to open things up. NHL hockey is great, but an extra feet or two width-wise would be great. I concur with LS that owners don't want to give up prime seating area and there would be issues with rinks in NBA arenas.
