Yeah, he was still around for that, but not much longer afterward. Tommy Tutone ran him. Speaking of being run, I shoulda tried to get to this one before you ran yourself:
Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers - "Running Man's Bible"
. The title sounds like it could be your anthem.

What Mgo said, except I think they're from Liverpool. And while you're at it, some Pink Floyd would be nice too. I bet nobody has ever heard of that band, still trying to figure out which one is Pink.

Jones and Page were from suburbs of London, Kent and Heston.

Bonham and Plant were from Birmingham.

The Mercy Beat 4 were from Liverpool, but you knew that. :)

As to the Pink Floyd question:

The name is actually taken from a real story that happened to the band. After the success of Dark Side of the Moon they were flown to Capitol Records main offices and were introduced to all the high ranking executives. During one of those meetings, one of the clueless executives (who's job it is to know who their clients are) asked someone (within ear shot of the band) "Oh by the way, which one's Pink?" The band found it so ridiculous that they put it in the song as a slight to the record companies. Pretty bold for a band to do, considering they just bit the hand that feeds them.

I take that back. BtS songs haven't been played on FM radio ad nauseam. But there's a good reason for that.

You're right about Kent, as that is an urban district Sidcup, of SE London, which is a borough of Hexley. Heston is in the London Borough of Hounslow, which is considered a suburb of West London. I sourced it from a biography of the band, I just didn't specify it to the degree I did here.
