Yes, dipshit, I had no idea that Oregon was the first state to decriminalize weed in 1973. Was sure a head-scratcher to me when I got popped 28 years ago, yet no criminal charges were filed, and I paid the $50 ticket ($500 now).

For someone who is such a cunt about posters that forget a comma or misspell a word, you sure are hot and loose with the facts. Oregon did not decriminalize weed in 1973 or any other year.

Go jack off with a cheese grater, you shit eating dumbfuck.
New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, a Republican, has sent to the state legislature a bill that would decriminalize possession of 1 ounce of marijuana. The New York Times reported today that 10 other states have already done that. Which states are they? And what does it mean to "decriminalize possession"?

The states are Alaska, California, Colorado, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, Maine, Minnesota, Ohio, and Oregon. These state legislatures (except Alaska's) decriminalized marijuana possession in the 1970s. Oregon was the first, in 1973, following the recommendations of the Nixon administration's National Commission on Marijuana Use (also known as the Shafer Commission). Nebraska was the last, in 1979.

Yes, Oregon marijuana laws are nothing like Colorado or Washington's... because we ain't new. Several ballot measures for full legalization have been voted down -- not for lack of will, but we just don't want the government's grubby mitts on our weed.

We've seen what a joke the Washington Legislature made of it, and now they're finally opening shops over the last week, it became an even bigger joke.

Our latest ballot measure this fall makes it legal to grow your own, but it puts the state liquor control (OLCC, aka "state run mafia," as they control the gambling, too) in charge, and no one trusts those bastards, so we'll probably vote that one down too.

It's not for lack of will (puh-leez), we're just waiting for the right measure, not some half-ass bit of hastiness (sup Colorado and our neighbor to the north).

Semantics? By that you mean you used the wrong words? Yes that is my argument, that you said the wrong thing. Pot was not decriminalized in 1973 nor anytime since.

Here's the deal -- that's the term that's been used for it since it was first proposed over 40 years ago. And apparently in Screwey's neck of the woods (I forget where HE IS), it's still the term used today.

Ergo, I am right, you are wrong. Full stop, not up for debate. Now run along, and don't make us take the rolled up newspaper to your little snout, Yappie.

Decriminalization means you get popped with less that a certain reasonable amount, you don't got to jail and you get charged with a violation, which does not go on your record as a crime like say a misdemeanor.

Legalize means it is fucking a legal to have up to a certain amount w/o any punishment at all.

Am I missing something about this thread?

Decriminalization of pot means that, at the most, you get a ticket for having pot. No limit. Oregon did not decriminalize pot in 1973, they decriminalized small amounts. Dins is wrong and has been hoodwinked by stupidity.

So you are stupid. Got it. The first sentence meant exactly what it says. Dims doesn't get worked up at you because you suck at smack. The second sentence was in reference to a meme YOU started.

Commas are my friend but when dims fucks up the English language in this very thread you suck his dick. So this is all personal. You need to get laid or something dude because you are stressing.

Show me where there is a weight limit.

If pot has been decriminalized in Oregon how did a client of mine do time for having 20lbs?

Again, you are missing out on the very clear real world distinction between decrim and legalization.

Decriminalization means you can still get a ticket. Legalization means you can't even get a ticket for it. YOU are missing the distinction between decriminalizing weed and only decriminalizing possession of less than a certain amount of weed, but then you are an idiot so it's understandable.

I think everyone on the planet understands the meaning of decriminilisation in the framework of this discussion, as it refers to amounts that lend to the definition of possession and not to amounts that would be interpreted as "intent to traffic".

Everyone...except you, apparently.

Because you need to fabricate the context of decriminilisation into a sharp, pointy stick...to fend off wolves or something.

I would expect a lawyer to understand this. Then again, you're hardly a "real" lawyer. You're more like the lawyer a jizz mopper would refer to one of his "clients."
