Going to have to call Bull Sh!t on that poll at least for Texas and prolly Oklahoma as well.

First off HS football is not a choice and outside of Dallas and Houston college football is far more of the discussion.

For Michigan poll shows 52% NFL / 48% college. I would say a lot of people in the state watch and root for the Lions but are pretty apathetic about them. Nobody's in a bad mood on Monday cuz the Lions lost. The entertainment in watching them comes more from the comedy of how they will fuck things up. There's a lot more passion for MSU/UM football.

There are plenty of NFL fans that don't give a shit about CFB and
CFB fans are more passionate, delusional, committed, etc. The Lions dominate the metro Detroit area, UM and MSU go way further.

I travel MI almost on a daily basis and am in frequent communication with "the people" all across this state.

But it sure is nice to have someone in here who lives 1200 miles away to educate me on our fans.

Most people have a family tie to a school or a regional rooting preference with regards to UM, MSU...hence Walmart Wolvies and Sav-a-lot Sparties. But can you imagine the scene if the Lions ever made, or won the Super Bowl? Hard to fathom, but I think the D would be nuts. We draw a million for Stanley Cup Parades....SB would be bigger IMO.
