Big 12 Argument 2014-15 Edition.

The Big 12 is about an average P5 conference this year. Two really good teams. A third challenger. Three more teams with a punchers chance in most games. Three teams that are dogs, one team that is the Vandy of the west. About the same ration of teams to teams as the Pac 10 and SEC. A little better than the ACC, a lot better than the Big 10 (this season).

Why do you even post in here? There's plenty of dick joke opportunities on cul de sac. The SEC hype, whether you choose to ignore it or not, is a subject that is being discussed nationwide.

I can understand why you'd want everyone too look away as your pig feeds on the trough of an ESPN hype society though.

Friendless? One of my best friends from college lives here and has for years. Sadly, he is looking to move back home to Ohio to be closer to his father before he passes.

Carson (your own fellow Auburn fan) knows me personally. We share many mutual friends. I'm liked well enough that I'm an officer with the Alumni Association. Carson went to Angler's often enough to verify the size of our section and my reserved seating as an Association officer. Our alumni association has over 200 members and holds watch parties that have over 100 people. The big black couch up there in front of the TV screen and stage at Harry T's, it's mine . . . no, really, I donated it to Dan and Lou in 2007 after my divorce to be used at Angler's and now it is at Harry T's. You claim you know everything about here all the time, you should know who they are without last names. Every other local and semi-regular tourist knows them . . . some better than others.

I'd venture to say that the only fan bases here in this area that aren't SEC/ACC also and are larger are Texas, Ohio, State, and Michigan.

I imagine these little stories you make up for other posters in your mind are exactly how you see football as well. There's a word they use for this . . . Psychosis.

I'll be honest, I bitch about the SEC a lot. Most people know the good outweighs the bad. My passion for college football is well known. Some might consider it a fault. I don't. My significant other doesn't. That's what matters.

My dislike for the hype isn't even about OU. It's about the radical changes occurring in the game we will pass down.

Hey man - I don't think the SEC has a huge factor at all nowadays - not like it did a few years back. It's just like the other conferences - top-heavy, though the SEC is lopsided. The SEC West is defintely stronger than the SEC LEast. I'm sure you run into UGA fans down where you're at. If there is a more delusional fan base in America at anything, I would be shocked beyond belief. I have been (though it may be just me) under the impression that the bullshit hype that comes out of Athens is strong enough by itself to drive them up in the polls every year. I know I bitch about OU getting pumped up like that, but they aren't as bad at getting overrated as UGA is.

As you'd believe, most of my friends are UGA fans. I tagged them with the term "Excuse Factory" a few years back. I could show you quite a few of them that make Schmick seem like the most positive person on the earth when they lose. Nothing's funnier than my FB when they lose. I pretty much just sit back & giggle at them...
