125 - 130 if the scores of tests taken over the years were averaged, I suppose. I've taken those online ones and scored as low as 115 or as high as 135. First one taken in elementary school said 125... so who knows. I know there's plenty smarter and even more dumberer out there.

Interesting question. On the whole, just surviving in here must demand a higher level of intelligence than probably most other places. Many of us date back way before your average junior high punk had access to a computer. I did pretty well on standardized IQ tests over the years, but don't consider myself exceptionally smart even though my brain seems to be chock full of useless information. I doubt many if any of us can really understand stuff like quantum mechanics and string theories. Leave that to the astrophysicists. We can stick with the really important stuff like (your answer here).

I've gone 'round and 'round with mv in historical debates (especially the civil war). I don't always agree with him but I damn sure respect his opinion and view points.

I put that in perspective . . . I graduated valedictorian of my high school at 15, Summa Cum Laude from Oklahoma, and did post graduate studies at both Pitt and Penn. Maybe it's a little conceited or cocky on my part but I tend to think that the majority of people I choose to interact with are of a higher level of intelligence than most.

I'm still right most of the time though. Just for the record.

Not really, I just typically don't give a fuck on the board.

Post graduate studies in rhetoric so I'm pretty sure I'm more than capable of framing a proper sentence when required. Composition was kind of important . . .

Most of what I post here is tantamount to a first rough draft if I were actually writing something. I'd assume that's probably true of most posters on the board as well.

I graded out above average when I was tested in both HS and college. I haven't been tested in a long time now but know that your basic intelligence doesn't change unless you become ill.

I think you're taking something away from mv, Lefty, and 88's education and intelligence when you make statements like that . . . I'm not really all that familiar with others not usually on the CFB board.

Have you considered the history of this taco stand (actually it's brethren boards more specifically) being partially the reason? I posted a picture of my oldest daughter after she was first born and regretted it ever since. I'm at a point in life where I don't give a fuck if you believe me or not. It's whatever.

I went to a self paced school for a good period, being of higher intelligence and having a kind of crappy home life, I progressed faster than your typical student; I stayed after school to do work in a self paced program because I basically didn't want to go home. If I didn't have practice of some sort I was usually in my cubicle doing school work until I was kicked out of the building. When I transferred back into a public school system I had the credits and I definitely proved on my testing I knew the material. I took some AP courses and was much further along in basically everything except some sciences.

There's a couple posters here or that were here that have known me personally or have been/are on my social media. I've also posted pretty descriptive shit about the times I have sucked in life too. I don't hide much, I give you the good with bad.

I’ve been concerned for some time that my memory is nowhere near what it once was (shocking for someone past 60, I know). Last month I went through a barrage of tests (half a day’s worth) at UW in order to assess my memory and mental state.

I got a copy of the 3-page assessment where they indicate I’m in great shape mentally for my age. In the middle of it I found “IQ = 131”. Maybe I’ll post a copy of it. If I can remember where I put it.

Re: memory. It has been said that forgetting where you put your keys in typical. Forgetting you have a car is not. I do the NT Times crossword puzzles in the Fort Myers News-Press. I almost never do Monday or tuesday because they are so easy (the puzzles get progressively more difficult Mon-Sat. -- Sundays are just big) and enjoy the challenge of trying to figure out the warped clues. If I find I can't solve most of them, I'll take it as a sign of trouble. If I can't do a Monday puzzle, I'm cooked.

Not sure what the highest possible score is, but the highest achieved is 230 by Marilyn vos Savant. The highest achievable on the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale III (WAIS-III) is 155. Average IQ is 100, and in the US, a standard deviation (SD) is 15-16 points (I'll use 15 for simplicity's sake). This means that ~68% of the population falls within one SD, meaning ~68% of people have IQs from 85-115. Roughly 96% have IQs within 2 SDs of the mean (70-130), and about 99% of people have IQs within 3 SDs (55-145). Vos Savant's is about 8 SDs higher than average. She's so smart, it's a wonder she doesn't post here. Perhaps Dins scared her off.
