Not sure if I'm quite there yet, but Oregon has played 3 of the elite defenses (MSU, Furd, Utah), and lit all of them up, bigtime.

Has any team played 3 better defenses (and save the SECBSH shit -- 3 yards and a cloud of punts, except Auburn, who plays even worse defense than Oregon).

Bama's offense is anemic, at best. Fortunately for them, they played another team with a laughable offense. They'd both be cellar-dwellers in the PAC... never even considered the possibility until tonight, but I think it's true.

I think the Lower Case t's are better than they've been given credit for. The B1G are not what we thought they were.

The B12, which many thought was a joke in the early season, seems like quite the meatgrinder.

The ACC is still a joke.

And Oregon returned it 100 yards for a TD? Okay - maybe Utah is a decent team, but it's obvious that they've got some stupid fucks on their team.
I was at a bar, and the shock, leading to uproarious laughter was priceless.

I'll tell you what -- Utah has three SOLID defensive players. Brian Blechen is badass at safety... just an animal. Their 2 big guys up front (forget their names, even though I've watched a bunch of Utah this year -- rack the PAC12 Network) are a threat to kill the QB every down... maybe why they lead the country in sacks (and without looking it up, they might lead in tackles for loss, as well).

LEGIT defense. Of the Ducks opponents, their D might be better than MSU or Stanford.

Papa Willie wrote:Seriously, Dins - do you think Oregon could run the table with Auburn's schedule this year? Be honest. (and don't worry - they would have mutilated A&M)

Maybe. Could have at least gone 11-1.

Unlike other years, outside of Auburn, there's not a lot of offense being played in the SEC. And in my casual observations (I've watched a shit-ton of SEC football this year, since I enjoy it immensely), it just seems like both the pace of play, and the players themselves aren't as fast this year.

Auburn's record wouldn't be any better with Oregon's schedule.

Let's face it, both teams are suspect on D.

And this is one of the many reasons why he was kicked off the Cal football team.

I did not know that.

So, DeSean Jackson and Kaelin Clay went to the same high school and college?

Awesome. Talk about being forever linked.

Not to mention Utah's best defensive player... Tevin Carter.

Former Cal football player kicked off the team for the same reason (being an idiot)

Yes and no. The better teams have adapted a bit (like Oregon and Auburn), and have brought a bit of the smashmouth element, and mix things up more than 5 years ago.

That's why I love this game. It never stops changing, then changing, then changing.

There's more deeeeeeep passes than there were a few years ago, it seems.

I've noticed that it seems like defenses are finally starting to adjust to the read option a little better. I would imagine that in 5 years, we're going to see it go away - just like the wishbone,

The read option is "the wishbone" minus the 4 back... you fucking retard !

College Football has been running this same offense for over 100 years... just ask Chip errr (every coach in College Football History)

Good god... you're an idiot.

Alive:
Mississippi State/Alabama...elimination game of the week/year next week
Florida State...win out and they're in
Oregon/Arizona State...on a collision course in the Pac-12 title game
Baylor/TCU...edge to Baylor with that head-to-head win; Frogs should win out and the Bears still have K-State

On Life Support with 1 Loss:
Ohio State/Nebraska...big games next week Nebraska-Wisconsin and Ohio State-Minnesota; clear sailing for OSU to Indy if they win; Nebraska still has the Gophers on their slate

Dying/Dead with 2 Losses:
Kansas State...still alive in the Big XII but they need help; still play Baylor
Auburn...bad loss to A&M; they can only play spoiler to Alabama in the Iron Bowl
Mississippi...spoiler role potentially with the Egg Bowl
Michigan State...had to win out to get in; eliminated
Notre Dame...worst performance of a top 10 team yesterday; eliminated

MSU's defense is nowhere near "elite." Maybe it is pretty good relative to other teams in cfb, but it's not even in the same stratosphere as last year's D. As it turns out, I guess losing 6 starters was kind of a big deal.

J.T. Barrett played out of his mind. Unbelievable performance by a RS Frosh QB on the road in a big game. He was even more of a handful than Mariota was (no, I am not saying he is better). Not looking forward to facing that dude 3 more years.

I'm going to assume you were drinking heavily when you posted.
One of 2 things happened here -- either you forgot the "brain... THEN keyboard," or the SECBSH really is this strong.

Bama has played 2 teams with any sort of defense... and their offense laid an egg in both (and another egg against a team with shit for D).

Oregon has played 3 teams with very good defenses, and got the scout team players in to the games.

And you're going to try and compare the two?

Really? Don't you have a game against Western Carolina to prep for, or something, rather than typing out really stupid shit on the internet?

You really posted that?

Say hi to Western Carolina for me. They and their ilk make Bama's offense look almost good.

But let me know when Bama beats a team in the (current) top 20, OK? Wait, I guess your "signature win" actually was against #20, my bad.

And if your eyes tell you Bama's offense is good (save your stats from Florida Atlantic, it makes you look dumb), then get those eyes checked.

Cooper is awesome... just think what he would do with a QB who didn't completely suck.
