Winston pushing the official (twice)

Post by MuchoBulls »

I didn't see a thread about this, but I did just see the ACC is not going to discipline him.

Pretty weak on the part of the conference.

Mucho, the roll eyes was about the 'rape' stupidity, not Winston pushing the ref.

All good.

That "girl" was so upset at being 'raped' she then went to have sex the same night with her boyfriend.

NOW, the :meds:

Not sure about letting the defense sub after the offense did it. I just don't know the rule.

See! It's pretty easy admitting to a lack of knowledge on a subject. Now, if only it would spread across the net.

When the offense substitutes, the defense has the opportunity to make a substitution as well to match up. In such cases the umpire (or center judge in conferences that use 8 officials) will prevent the ball from being snapped until the defense has completed their substitution. The defense must start their substitution process within 3 seconds of the substitution signal being given.

OPINION - most offenses sub players damn near every snap. If the offense makes a late sub, say with 15 or less seconds on the clock the defense should sub and it would likely cause a delay of game on the offense. Further, some of these tempo teams like Oregon or Baylor can be slowed down by matching their substitutions. Those two have the offensive substitution process down and the new players are moving onto the field as soon as the previous play is dead. If the defensive coordinators were smart they would sub for the DB that is furthest away from their sideline. Run a guy out onto the far side of the field and have him tap the guy who he is replacing on the shoulder and then that guy has to jog back to his sideline. If done correctly it can take close to 20 seconds. During that time the officials will not allow the ball to be snapped and if the play clock runs out it is a foul for delay on the offense.

As for contact with an official there is a provision for ejection. Much more likely is a 15 yard unsportsmanlike foul. However, we as officials have to judge the intent behind the contact. As an umpire I am probably contacted by players 20 times during a game. 99.9% of those never approach a flag let alone an ejection. I didn't see the play but unless the player gave the official a two handed shove that knocked him over I would not consider the ejection.

Yeah, hard to say. Certainly not an ejection but it could be an unsportsmanlike. For me it would depend on what was said between the two. Also notice Winston looks back at the C as he is retreating as if the light suddenly went on.

Maybe the best thing would have been a whistle to stop everything, have the white hat explain and issue a warning and then start the clock again. We talk about preventative officiating all the time. Seems like it could have been used there.

It's not an unheard of reaction, although certainly not the most common one.

Maybe Shrub should do the easy thing, and admit to a lack of knowledge on the subject.

As far as Oregon goes...

not so fast, my fliend. Oregon rarely substitutes after a gain, and generally will only substitute on offense at all in the event of an injury, or if there's a natural stoppage that's beyond the control of the offense, ie pass goes way out of bounds, flag, replay, etc. They sub when there's a natural lull... and their league opponent DCs know to take full advantage when they do sub, and usually have an army of guys ready to go in. I don't think OOC opponents are quite as ready for it as they think they are.

This season even has a slightly new twist -- Marshall at WR, and they can change the play and bring him into the backfield as a RB, without subbing or creating a stoppage.

Dins and SM.

Are you here in Tallahassee? Do you have any 'inside' knowledge that State Attorney Willie Megs didn't have?

Two daughters at FSU, one of which knew the DZ sorority slut by reputation. She was well known as a jersey chaser.

How about you admitting your lack of knowledge pertaining to the facts, as a prosecuting attorney, criminal law, and the justice system over all, or just shut the fuck up.

And yes, I am a former law enforcement officer and have forgotten more about criminal law than you"ll ever know.

MAN!!!!!!! I hate stupid people. And my bad responding to piss poor trolling.

Cripes. I hate responding to such stupidity. My bad, again.

Oh, she's a jersey chaser. So, you know, rape away! I bet she had it coming too, didn't she?

As a former law enforcement officer, how many times did you leak shit to attorney's so they could get out ahead of the situation?

Since you're a super-smart former law enforcement officer, help me out here -- what's the penalty for hit-and-run in Tallahassee?

Around here, it's a felony.

RtS is exactly what's wrong with FSU.

He absolutely exemplifies it.

And he has no clue why.

It is simply amazing how every FSU honk around here will defend that POS to their last breath. They are cut from the same cloth as the Ferguson trolls...see only the facts that suit their arguement.

Seriously -- I can't think of another school, regardless how scummy, that keeps anyone who commits theft twice, let alone follows it up with disgraceful incident after disgraceful incident.

Maybe because the have the worst fans in the country, who laugh it off, or claim it didn't happen, or cite some outré conspiracy theory... anything but "their guy" is a POS.
