We can't do this. I'm the guy your mother warned you about. I come from the "wrong side of the tracks"...a bad egg...a hood...

...you might even say I'm a...

You're too good for a rat like me. Besides, I'm in to the Rubenstein Brothers for a couple of bills, so they're after me...I'm on the run...always on the run...
Go on, kid. Beat it! SCRAM! Make like you never met me. Find a "nice guy", a forklift driver or something...someone who'll treat you like the lady you are.
GO ON, I said. Don't cry for me...I ain't worth cryin' over...

Damnit. I knew this time would come. Look, Marty, I usually subscribe to "bros before hos" but things between trev and I moved so fast. What started out with a few innocent PMs quickly turned into weekend trysts in The Hamptons.

There is no you and trev. There never was, there never will be. Please stop calling and leaving 37 voice mails on her phone at 4 a.m. A man needs his sleep.

She could do worse, maybe a lawyer or salesman could get their forks into her.

Myself, haven't been on one in awhile. You have to get re-certified every year so lost my license. The worst part of driving a forklift for a living? Running out of propane on the front dock when the cage is on the back dock. Toting a tank 200 yards is not fun.

Now my biggest annoyance is when some asshole in the front office drains the coffee pot, leaving a half cup left for the next slob who comes along wanting a refill.

Who does that?

Guys like Marty do, that's who. But I'd gladly make coffee for trev.

If you are working for a company that doesn't have other forklifts available to carry your empty tank to get re-filled... then you are what you are. Don't make up bullshit about it either as I know how those things work.

Why would I make that up?

We have about 8 forklifts, no operator that I'm aware of has another deliver him a new tank. You get off your ass and get it yourself. At least I always did.

The driver who won't get off his ass and tote a tank shouldn't be there to begin with.

Forklift Wars... on T1B

AP (u-haul)

vs.

Wags (Kansas City)

I'm going with Wags... since he has more long term experience with pallets (it's his livelihood) ... in comparison, AP has more short term experience... going from apartment to apartment every six months.

Back in the day when I flew for the Oil and Gas company I would often be the first to the hanger. People used to bitch that I hadn't started the coffee when they arrived. I replied that I don't drink coffee and therefore don't think about it.

None of those bitches ever brought me a diet coke in the morning so why do I need to start coffee?

Inconceivable.

No coffee, no workee.

But I understand some shops see it that way. Thankfully, not mine.

Just hand over the coffee and no one gets hurt.

Fucking entitlement attitude...

Just stop at Mickey D's or $tarbuckS & get your coffee before work like the rest of us do. Stop expecting things to be handed to you.

There was plenty of coffee on hand, I just didn't think about starting it up since I don't drink the stuff.

Then you worked at a shit place full of assholes. Then again, maybe nobody wanted to help you out due to the IKYABWAI factor.

The wife or I make coffee at home before we head out at 6 am

There's usually mfg guys there at 5 who make the first pot or 2.

No entitlement attitude here. We work for it.

Not a fork lift expert, but don't those things have a fuel gauge?

Guess if you are too dumb to look at them, you're too dumb to ask another jockey to fetch you a new one.

The propane tanks we use to not have gauges. I'm not aware of any that do. It wouldn't matter anyway. They are strapped to the back of the lift and you drive it until it stops, then go get a full one.

They have tank gauges on the Toyota and CAT lifts at Home Depot. Even if you ran out, it's not that big of a deal to undo the straps and fork it over to the propane dispenser. Even a Raymond reach can do that quite easily... as you should know.

Sounds like you worked with a bunch of dickheads that don't help each other out.
