I thought more guns was the solution?
Another movie theater shooting in a pro-gun, GOP-voting state, this time in Tennessee. A few weeks ago was another movie theater shooting in Lafayette, Louisiana. I thought by having more people packing heat, they'd stand up for themselves in situations like this.
So? Where are all these brave gun holders?

I don't think we need more guns. What we need is more dead people.
Re: I thought more guns was the solution?
So, you're packing and some asshole levels his weapon at your wife/child/friend and you want to think about it? Umm.

Fortunately, in this case, there were dudes with guns nearby. They responded quickly, quite possibly saving lives. Shortly afterwards, more dudes with guns showed up and sent asshole to hell. Feel good story of the day.
I suppose in your fukked up world, you just rely on gun free zone signs and hoping you are lucky enough to have a cop nearby.

These numbers would be much more interesting if they included a breakdown by Participants and Innocent Bystanders ('sup Annie).Papa Willie wrote:And yet - here's Chicago:

Yet hardly a word is said. Maybe black lives don't matter to the press after all...

I am of the opinion that there are a lot of guns in Chicago.
Re: I thought more guns was the solution?
But how can that be? Chicago has the toughest gun control laws in the country.R-Jack wrote:I am of the opinion that there are a lot of guns in Chicago.

Screwy = epic failure
The "gun" you are referencing is a pellet gun and unless you are prepared to outlaw/background check anything shaped like a gun, then your entire assertion is ill founded. What's next? Little 1st grade boys who chew their Pop-tarts into the shape of handgun being suspended from school? Oooooh-- already happened in a progressive school district. Great job, prog-commie.

How all those law abiding criminals ended up with them will forever be a mystery.mvscal wrote:But how can that be? Chicago has the toughest gun control laws in the country.R-Jack wrote:I am of the opinion that there are a lot of guns in Chicago.

If you did any research at all, something your chosen profession chooses to ignore, you would know that these shootings were in gun free zones.
If you want law abiding citizens to stand up for themselves then don't create all these gun free zones. A gun free zone sign is an invitation to the mental midgets and criminal cowards.

As usual, Hefty confuses board posting with professional duties obligations. But how exactly would a suburb of Nashville be a "gun free zone?" Of all places.Left Seater wrote:you would know that these shootings were in gun free zones.

Seriously? A business can decide for themselves if they will allow guns in their place of business or not. If they choose no, they put up signs stating such. I.e. A gun free zone. They are just begging to be the next mass shooting site.
