You were not right.
Give us a break.
Woods has most definitely NOT come back.
8 tour wins, a POY, a Vardon Trophy.
Bfd.
As I noted on page 6 of this thread...
poptart wrote:In Tiger's first 12 years on the tour, he won PoTY 9 times.
Was nearly an annual event for him.
Oh, and of course he won 14 majors in those 12 years.
Now over the last 6 years, he's won PoTY 2 times.
And... ZERO majors over those 6 years.
"Coming back" for Woods would mean winning majors again, along with POY honors at least every other year.
his body has just broken down to the point where he'll never be the same player he was.....he keeps fucking with his swing and continues to try and drive the ball further than anyone else.....he can't accept that he's not one of the longer hitters on the tour any more and he keeps swinging out of this shoes trying to get additional yardage.....as long as he continues to try and swing a club like he did when he was 25, he's going to continue to fail miserably.....he just needs to accept where he's at on a physical level and live with it.....if he can do that, I honestly think he could potentially win another major, but there's no way he'll ever break Jack's record.....
Seems to me he should shut it down right now -- because he is a total mess.
Take considerable time to modify his swing and stop trying to explode every drive like he did when he was a kid.
yeah, and he won the 1986 Masters at the age of 46.....Jack accepted the fact that he had physically changed and adopted his game to fit those changes....that's why he was and will remain the greatest player of all time...winning a Masters at 46 years of age is crazy
I remember Jack doing that in 86 and how huge it was. I mean, dude was fourty fukkking six!!!! As a 23 year old, that seemed to be ancient. Current day, 52 yo smackaholic thinks that punk needs a good kick in the nads!!!
Too bad Tom missed winning The Open a few years back because he hit an 8 iron a little too well on that last hole. That would have been amazing, as even 52 yo smackaholic thinks that dude is old.
As for Tiger accepting being elderly, I don't think it matters. It is more than a physical problem.
It would be good for golf if some day, an elderly Tiger got his mojo woikin again, but not yet. I wanna see him suffer a little while more for being such a classless bitch over the last decade or so.

Confidence in another decade or so, he might be competitive on the senior tour. I suspect that by the time he is 50, he will be happy to score double digits.
Can somebody page dr mc coy on the white courtesy phone? I think he has an official proclamation to make concerning tiger's career.

The good news: Says his confidence is coming back.
"It's all most there" "I hit some really good shots today, the putter just wasn't working" "I'm striking the ball well, my game is almost back" "I've exceeded a few of my goals, but I'm behind on a couple of others." "It's just my glutes are shutting off" now it's "my confidence is coming back"
"my glutes are shutting off" I mean, that's scraping the bottom of the barrel for excuses......
obviously he's running out of reasons why he's not playing very well and it's not getting any better....
smackaholic wrote:felix, weren't you in the ball washer camp? Or was it B and dins?
Whoever it was, I suspect they've about had it as well.
Think I'll go do some crunches now, as it is apparently very important for one's game.
oh make no mistake, I was a huge fan and I honestly believed he could come back......he was just so physically talented how could he not?
but like I said his body is so broken down from the torque he puts into a swing, he's either gpong to have to change or he's never going to sniff another major championship.....
the really telling thing is look at how the crowds that used to follow him around a course have dwindled.....he's almost attained the "hey this guy made a birdie now lets get back to the leaders" status.....
Yes, Felix has indeed lovingly washed and wiped dry those balls. A few years back he wanted to bet me that McIlroy wouldn't come within 10 of Tiger's total for majors. He already has.

gotta call bullshit on it being physical. i mean, yeah, it is a factor, and may possibly have gotten the whole tiger collapse ball rolling, but, it is in his dome now, with a long term lease, I hope fear.
And I doubt his marital issues timing were just a coincidence.
Dude we be into the 20s now for majors, possibly, had he just had the good sense to keep a full time ho wrangler on the payroll.

The ball sucklers are gonna milk that one as long as they can. He doesn't seem to be physically hampered during practice rounds. From what I've heard dude is a beast when it's not competitive.

Seriously. It's golf for fucks sake. Old guys do it. Fat, drunk guys do it. And can do it well. He's not rolling out of the pocket to rifle a 25 yard out into a narrow window under blitz pressure. He's hitting a little ball with a stick.

I don't doubt that Tiger has physical issues to deal with.
His style of play has put a lot of stress and strain on his body.
It's inevitable that injuries would crop up as time went by.
Personally, I think he has big mental and emotional issues.

How much would you like to wager on that? He's 23 years old, and he's already half way there.
tell you what, I'll bet you whatever amount you want if you're willing to bet me the same amount that eldrick never wins another major....
deal?
should have taken me up on it, looks like you could have made a shitload of money....but I'm sure that was something I offered because i knew you'd never do it.....

Well, of course I wouldn't. That looked like a pretty stupid bet at the time. I don't make stupid bets.

Where were Tiger's ball washers this past weekend? How come they weren't in here on Friday and Saturday proclaiming the re-birth of Tiger? Hell, he almost stayed with the 252nd ranked golfer in the world for 3 rounds. Perhaps that bodes well for the Senior Tour, where his next win is likely to come in 2026.
