remembering-------
As we get older and our brains are cluttered with tons of experiences, it becomes a bit more difficult to remember things. Sometimes (as the old joke goes) I can't recall what I had for lunch yesterday. On the other hand some events stick in your memory so profoundly that you can recall things in detail. For us "older" folks, the murder of John Kennedy is one such event. I was teaching school that day and I got a phone all from MrsO telling me President Kennedy had been shot. I actually told her it was not a good time for a bad joke. I had the office staff turn on a radio and the facts of that day were revealed. For most others the horror of September 11, 2001 is a solid memory. MrsO and I were on our way to the real estate office here to finalize our home purchase. I had the radio on in our rental car and heard news that a plane had hit one of the Twin Towers. My first thought was that it was a foggy day, like the day a plane ran into the Empire State Building years ago, and that maybe it was just a small plane. The truth was revealed when we got to the office and saw events live on TV. We had flown down and now we were stuck here. I was working at Cornell and had some time sensitive research work and had to return ASAP. So we drove back the next day. The following Saturday afternoon I was officiating a high school football game at a place where we could see the first plane taking off from Syracuse after 9/11. My eyes were drawn to that plane as it flew of above Onondaga Lake. It was then that I realized everyone else was looking up at that plane too, players, fans, officials. It was a surreal moment.
Now our leaders in DC want to set up Iran, a nation that promotes terror with more money? Must be they forgot.

Iran had nothing to do with 9/11, or did you forget?
How do you feel about our dealing with Saudi Arabia? Maybe you forgot.

Doesn't Wolfman know that his own President Chimpy was responsible for bombing the Twin Towers?

Al Qaida's goal for 9/11 was forcing the US to bankrupt itself by plunging into perpetual war.

Re: remembering-------
Iran did not have anything to do with 9/11, but, they are part of the Islam problem. And sorry, I don't much care for the "radical Islam" label because, to be quite honest, they aren't that "radical" as muzzies go. And those fukkers are in charge over there.
Hopefully, some day libtard will pull his head out of his ass and realize that the only solution is to stomp a mudhole in their collective arse. It's not too late to do it now. As for Europe, I fear it may be too late. The cancer that is Islam has spread extensively there.

Re: remembering-------
That's a load of horseshit. I don't need to defend my take, but I will anyway.88 wrote:Methinks some people have a difficult time reading and/or comprehending. Wolfman does not need me to defend his take. But I will anyway.
Wolfman first explains where he was when he first heard about the 9-11 attacks on the WTC.
He then relates a moment when everyone was watching a plane fly in the sky. I had a similar experience.
In the last two sentences, he states that:
Did you notice how he did not state that Iran was responsible for the attacks on 9-11-2001? All he noted, which is accurate, is that the US has set itself on a course to release billions of dollars to Iran, which is a nation that promotes terrorist organizations. And a terrorist organization carried out the attacks on 9-11 (unless you are a brain dead midget, and then you blame George W. Bush and a cast of thousands of assistants that have managed to keep a tight lid on their conspiracy for 14 years despite also being completely inept and incompetent, in his opinion...). So the connection between Wolfman's take and the last two sentences is that those in Washington who would hand money to Iran, which funds terrorist organizations, must have forgotten that a terrorist organization carried out the atrocity of 9-11.Wolfman wrote:Now our leaders in DC want to set up Iran, a nation that promotes terror with more money? Must be they forgot.
Pretty clear to me. Amazing how much panty-dampness it produced in here from certain posters.
Wolfman's take was fine up until the last two sentences, and I appreciated the story as far as it went. My brother and his wife were living in an apartment in Battery Park City on 9/11/2001, just a few blocks away from the WTC, and basically had to run for their lives. He saw the second plane fly by from his kitchen window while eating breakfast. They got separated in the confusion and didn't find each other for three for four days afterwards. Needless to say it's a long story, and I'm not going to post the whole thing here. My brother in law was working at the World Financial Center at the time and happened to be late for work that day. Another long story.
His last two sentences are an obvious attempt to tie it to what is probably THE most partisan issue facing us today, and if you can't see that then you're looking the other way. Maybe it shouldn't be a partisan issue but in today's atmosphere in DC everything is a partisan issue.
I pointed out a fact that Iran was not involved in 9/11. Most of the perps came from Saudi Arabia and it's pretty well known that factions of the Saudi government are closely tied with terrorist organizations, yet we continue to do business with them. To use this anniversary to push a partisan issue is disgusting. Yes, Iran has funded terrorism in the past, and may be doing so right now, but they were not involved in 9/11.

You mean like the pass-the-hat fundraisers in every pub and bar on the eastern seaboard that funneled those funds to the IRA in the 70's and 80's?88 wrote:...which funds terrorist organizations...

No, b-juice, it's this funding of terrorism..

And it's the presence in our government of terrorists like this..
Yeah, we did 9/11, and we've no regrets at all...

Terrorism is a political label, you've got to be careful with it - it can change depending on your political objectives. Unconventional warfare or irregulars is more polite.88 wrote: terrorist organizations. And a terrorist organization

There is not fukking "may" about it.
What part of "death to America" are you having trouble comprehending?
How the fukk does the same crowd that goes after people for not baking a cake or issuing a marriage license ignore a group that openly executes people simply for being gay?

Re: remembering-------
I'm not defending Iran. I only said the Iran was not involved in 9/11, and to use 9/11 as an argument against the current deal is bogus. There are plenty of legitimate arguments against it, but invoking 9/11 is not one of them.88 wrote:Good God. You would be a great trial lawyer.
Mikey: Yes, my client has killed people in the past, and he might be killing more people right now, but he wasn't involved in 9/11.

Terror is terror, full stop. So Iran wasn't involved in 9/11 and Wolfman didn't say they were. He offered up an instance of terror and then mentioned the current admin wants to release a huge amount of money to a country that wants to harm you.
