Most uttered statement at last night's debate was...

Post by smackaholic »

"Thank You Senator/Governor/Mr Trump" from Mr Announcer dude as he repeatedly cut off the candidates because, well, you pretty much have to do that when you have to split time up so many ways.

This mob debate format is really annoying me. 11 people debating one another is a joke. Debates should be between 2 people, maybe 3 or 4.

Even with their 1 minute responses, there were still times you wouldn't hear from someone for half an hour, it seemed.

And the ironic part is, the 4 dudes no one gives a fukk about get to have a reasonable 4 way debate. This is backwards. Break it up into groups of 3 or 4 and cut it down to an hour and a half or two hours.

I hate to break this to you, but these so-called debates are nothing more than the TV networks trying to impact the nomination process. Notice the other party is not having such debates, and they only have a handful of possible candidates. I refuse to play that game and have not watched any of them. Hell, I don't think I even watched Nixon-Kennedy. Save your Lincoln-Douglas e-mails clones.

Impact the nomination process? They're looking to garner ratings, i.e. $$$, you nincompoop.

They want to do both.

BTW, I think Carly pretty much kicked everyone's ass last night. She is one sharp bitch.

She would slice and dice Hillary, assuming Hillary somehow makes it that far, which she won't.

TV networks worry about ratings? Who would have thought. The fact that they also have a political agenda seems to be hard to grasp for some posters here. I've heard Carly speak on other venues. She is very well prepared, and the folks that are in her support team know their craft. Certainly the best female that is in the running, and that's both parties. In many respects, I think we were better off with the old smoke filled room method of choosing presidential candidates. Kind of like MLB letting fans choose all star teams.

She's a horrid cunt and was a complete disaster at HP and Lucent. The ability to confidently spout numbers pulled straight from her ass is fair summation of her professional career. 50 new brigades for the Army? Really? What crackhead came up with that figure?

Overall, I thought CNN did a much better job than Fox.

Yea, that slap fight she got into Trump was so epic. I thought I was in 3rd grade watching those two argue about who screwed their companies harder.

I don't follow that corporate stuff closely enough to comment on it, but, the dude at HP who runned her said it was a mistake and what she did ended up being wise in hindsight. As for how they are doing now, I see a LOT of HP shit around including this company laptop that I am clacking this out on. Yes, I realize that will probably turn most of you against her. :hfal:

I was working in that industry during her tenure and we did a good deal of business with HP. She was universally loathed by HP personnel. HP's share price was $100.50 when she took over and $19.70 when she left.

Not good.

What years are we talking? Didn't the entire industry crash during that period? Kind of hard to put the dot bomb fiasco on her. And worker bees loathing a CEO is kind of SOP, especially a chick. I am going to guess that she got that position because she had breastusus (at the time). And it could explain some of the dislike of her.

I still sort of like the Donald. His putting the spotlight on the brown invasion errrrr, I mean immigration (immivation?) has been invaluable, but, at some point he does need to get specific. Acting like a middle school bully does get old after awhile.

Was everyone except for Snot Walker standing on a box? He looked so small.

I think Rubio is an excellent speaker. So is Rand Paul. And Kasich. The rest don't come across as all that convincing.

Rand Paul makes Walker look like Manute Bol. Kasich visually looks like someone's grandmother that got her hair sheared off for $3.00 at the local beauty college....and any Republican that is for the Iran "deal" is history.

I hate that CNN tried to fit way too much in so little time. I wish the networks would get together and work out a plan to discuss few topics. CNN should have just focused on foreign policy and then let ABC or CBS focus on domestic policy. They really rushed through the domestic issues last night.

As for the debate, I think Paul did much better this second round. Rubio is still the favorite in my mind. Carson and Trump will eventually run out of steam when the candidates have to spend more time talking about the issues.

Fiorina would make a good running mate, but not a good president.

Some issues I'm torn on is Rubio's aggressive foreign policy towards Putin and ISIS and Paul's strategic approach of sitting back and letting things play out. They both make compelling points, but I need to hear more and read more on their strategies.

Christie is obviously very passionate about social security and I think his idea on having the rich opt out of drawing from it has legs, but that is a very hard sell to someone who has paid into it since they were 16. Not sure what the solution is there.

Means testing won't make a damn bit of difference simply because there aren't enough people in that position. Same reason piling on the gazillionaires like Bernie wants to do won't work. That and the fact that the gazillionaires can simply leave the country or just put it all in tax free muni-bonds.

Listening to Wilkow talk with a few guests about how Ben Carson is just so damn likeable. "He's like a warm blanket and some chicken soup".

If I was on his show I think I'd go to the "he's so nice, you wouldn't even get mad if he was banging your daughter" card. And how many balck dudes can you say that about?

Ah, OK. That's more reasonable. We are currently drawing down to 30 brigades from 45 in 2013. I don't know how far along they are in that process. If she was talking about an end strength of 50 BCTs, I wouldn't take issue with that.

There is no Carly bashing in this forum. I didn't see the debate because I was out at a fabulous steakhouse having a fantastic dinner. But I heard Carly would have no competition and be killing all the other candidates if she was a liberal.
