I could actually attend 2 CFB playoff games.

I think my buddy really wants to go to the Linfield/Mary Hardin-Baylor D3 game (shocker to see those two teams still in it), but I think he's getting sick (he lives right down the road from the stadium).

I could do that, then make a mad dash back north, and hit up the Portland State FCS game.

But, I'll probably just watch the CCGs on the tube.

BTW -- defending NAIA Champ Southern Oregon is still alive, although they're on the road this Saturday. Having 3 playoff games in the state on the same day would have been cool.

I could drive a little less than 2 hours north tomorrow and see UW Whitewater (87-time defending D-III champs) play UW Oshkosh (the team that ended Whitewater's 759-game winning streak this year). I'd have a pretty decent chance of seeing the eventual champ.

We has this discussion -- D3 has almost twice as many teams as FBS, yet there's even fewer teams that start the season with a shot at winning the championship.

Wisconsin is home to two of them.

Linfield is about 40 minutes south of me, give or take.

Scott Brosius left this year, but for over a decade, a World Series MVP as coach was a strong allure to prospective recruits. That, and winning championships.

Cool. Great program, as far as D3 goes. I'm told they have crappy academics (just a rumor from a former student).

McMinnville is a good place to stay out of trouble.

My son verbaled to UCSB then changed his mind and went to Stanford because of a girl. Then he was injured in a car crash transfered from Stanford to a smaller school down here but has been cruising around Europe on a semester abroad

Watched a bit of the Whitewater-Oshkosh game on a non-HD local station. Helluva game. If Whitewater wants to repeat they may have to beat #3, #1 and #2 in consecutive weeks.
