After a 10 game win streak, the Yanks are still 5 1/2 games out. I agree, 10 straight against Oakland and Seattle is hardly reason to be popping the corks. Let's see how they do against teams with some starting pitching.

About par for the course Ucunt1. Next time you add anything of substance will be the first.
I know it takes more than room temp IQ, but perhaps you might want to read Dinsdale's post. Then read Assassin's. Then remove the plunger from the replica of Carlsbad Caverns you call your ASS and realize you just KYOA again.

In case you people are really retarded (<----that's a joke, kids -- you provide daily evidence that you're retarded), Asstardian's stated that the Yanks are "going nowhere." Moving up two spots in the standings in less than 2 weeks and getting yourself back within striking distance is definitely "going somewhere."
So, if teeing off when you get a couple of (barely) sub 500 teams is nothing......then why haven't YOUR teams, and all the ones you claim are superior to the Yanks done it?
Because you people aren't too bright.....that's why.
"Let's see how they do against teams with some starting pitching."
Ooooh, let's. Then again, you guys would kill to have Barry Zito, Rich Harden, and Ryan Franklin as starters, considering how some of your teams are looking, and they were worthless.....but keep talking stupid.......it just makes October that much sweeter, the more douchebags who get burned.
So, if the Yanks suck based upon them beating Seattle and Oakland(I swear you morons must push random keys on your keyboard, since nobody is really this stupid....I mean...."HA! You guys WON!!!! BWAHAHAHA you suck!!!!......are you idiots serious?) how come those horrible teams didn't have much trouble with the Sox?
You people don't do a very good job of hiding your fear and frustration.

Well they caught up to the Jays today. Life is on its way to getting back to normal in the AL East.
Even though the winning streak was against lesser teams, the Yankees got something valuable out of it. They were able to get all their crap straightened out and gain some momentum and team confidence, which is a dangerous thing considering how good that team is on paper.

you are right. Im terrified of another Yankee choke in the playoffs.
Get you're myopic head out of your fat ass and realize that the so called Evil Empire cant beat the good teams in baseball. Hell the DRays swept them, and made em look silly. Yanks got clobbered today with the "savior" on the mound. And that was against the fucking Mets! If the Yanks end up winning the division, and World Series,on my honor I will give you props. But they aint going too. Only if King George has a time machine, and can go back, and get Randy Johnson,Kevin Brown, and Mike Mussina of 1995.
Til that happens rejoice over a 10 game streak vs the equivelent of the Clippers, and the Jazz.

Backpedal much? This qualifies as not "going nowhere"? They have to win the World fucking Series in order for you not to have stuck your foor in your mouth? The Assassin wrote:If the Yanks end up winning the World Series.
The thing is... Steinbrenner and most of their fans would agree with you. But you know and I know, that's not what you meant. That wasn't the context your initial take was delivered in. That certainly was not your defense ever since Dins and I began having a little soft toss with your ass either.

How am I backpeddling? The Yanks are STILL going nowhere, and all I said was if the the planets align, hell freezes over, and you get laid without having to pay for it chance the Yanks win it all.Be honest, and for once quit licking Dumsdales ass. You now this team isnt shit. Beating under .500 might look nice on the stat sheet. But its like beating the JV team in practice. Doesnt mean you're WS material. Steinbrenner went after the big names instead of the right fits, and come October he'll blame everyone but himself for this fiasco. Mark my words sticky this or whatever.

DID NOT just post that.
Nuh-uh. Couldn't have.
And since you've already proven beyond any shadow of doubt you have no fucking idea what you're talking about regarding baseball (remember how games in April don't count?), maybe you should cut your losses, and not post stupidity like "But its like beating the JV team in practice." Maybe I should explain(AGAIN), since you're really fucking stupid --
MLB teams play 162 games a year. Not 161, and not 163.......162. At the end of these 162 games(aka "the regular season") the teams with the most victories go to the postseason. There's no governing body that subjectively rates playoff teams based on "well.....they beat Seattle and Oakland." It's whoever has the most wins. So, how is ringing up one more in the "W" column, which gets a team one step closer to the postseason "like beating the JV team in practice"? "Beating the JV team in practice," if my memory is working right -- and since I remember how MLB goes about choosing playoff teams, it must be working better than yours -- counts for jack shit. Winning a regular season MLB game DOES count....the exact same as any other regular season game counts at the end of the season.....including games in April, as well.
Now, for the REALLY advanced stuff, although it's probably so far beyond your baseball comprehension that I shouldn't bother -- 162 games a is a long season. During that 6 months, teams -- almost all of them -- go on these things called "streaks" and get in these things called "slumps".....kind of like what you were busting when you hooked up with Broomhilda. See, if a team starts the season in a slump, which many postseason tems have done in the last few years(like the A's almost every year for the last 10), and then pulls out of it, and wins 100, it doesn't translate to "going nowhere."
You tried piling-on the Yanks because they had a rough start(with a few new faces :SHOCKER:), and now they're not slumping, you're trying to twist your way out of all the stupid shit you posted. It don't work that way, douchebag.

Actually, they are currently a .523 which has won 12 of the last 14 games. There are plenty of games left in this season where they can make up ground on Boston and Baltimore. I believe they still play both 12 or 13 times. The Assassin wrote:The Yankmes are a .500 team. Deal with it.
Bottom line is their pitching sucked early on, but it has come on as of late. You can expect that they will go out and get a relief pitcher and maybe another starter before the trading deadline.

Astros are "going nowhere" and will try and unload him come June.
If this scenario plays out... the Yanks won't have to give up much in
return. Just taking on his salary for the rest of year will suffice...
maybe throw in a box of balls... done deal.
I wouldn't be surprised if Graves gets "a tryout" either.

Not that it had dropped much, but this thread is going to stay near the top of page 1 for the rest of the season. Just to remind you all's that you don't know shit.
Oh, and RACK Paul Quantrill -- ``If they want to come out on the field and chirp, then just come out to the mound,'' Quantrill said. ``When guys get wild when our guys are having a fantastic day at the plate, that leads to tension. The guy pitching for the Tigers, whatever his name is, it must have been the rain, the ball was slippery.''
D'oh! Let the plunking begin. That's what it's all about, baby. On the diamond, on this board -- it's all the same -- hate on the Yankees, and they'll hurt your feelings.

Hmmmm Guess the Yanks ARE legit. See what I told ya? They get fat on the weak teams. Get pissed on by the good teams. King George lets quality guys like Lieber,Soriano, and Pettite leave. And then inflates the payroll with big names. But are they the right fit? Doesnt look like it. Wanna keep bumping this thread Dinsy? Go ahead. Boston is proving me correct.
Wow...outscored 24-3 in two games in the Bronx. I sure do have egg on my face for doubting them.

If the Yankees are losing, I'm not complaining. I just think they'll be in the playoffs when its all said and done. I wouldn't have predicted they'd be 27-23 after 50 games but they're in striking distance of first. The AL East is more competive they most thought...4 teams within 3.5 games of first.
OK, so your entire point in this thread was that the Yankees suck, or something to that æffect. To back up your point, you mention how they lost (a WHOLE two in a row)when they faced a "good" team. The Assassin wrote: They get fat on the weak teams. Get pissed on by the good teams.
As of this writing, the "good" team is a whopping half game ahead of the team that sucks and isn't going anywhere.
You are easily the most pathetic masochist I've ever seen on these boards.

OMG... link??
Lieber... quality? LINK??!! He had one good year in an otherwise .500 career. He's 35 years old. They brought in Pavano to replace him. Granted, he too is a .500 career pitcher who's only had one good year. But, he's 6 years younger and has a lot more upside than Lieber. Weren't you ragging on the Yankees earlier in this thread for having an old pitching staff. Way to KYOA... again. I think this was a good move. Lieber = quality? LINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Soriano. Let him leave??? Uhhhhh...... they traded him for the most talented player in baseball. Let him leave??? LINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes, you gotta give up something in return for the most talented player in baseball.
Pettitte -- Let him leave???? LINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pettitte signed for less money with the Stros because his family lives in Deer Park....... Why is this significant?? Because Deer Park is a mere 20 miles from Houston. It's called the "hometown discount" and there was nothing the Yankees could do about it.
I was going to let Assrapedman's posts stand on their own merit, but OK.....
Pettitte whined and cried because Cash and co. were busy trying to secure players to continue the winning tradition. He was told it would be more than worth his while to keep his mouth shut while the free-agent/offseason trade blitz was in full-swing, but Pettitte wouldn't go with that program, even though George and Cash always made good on their word when dealing with their vets. When Pettitte showed such a lack of character and cried like a baby, it was time to wave goodbye.
And Soriano had a lot of potential to be a "quality guy," for sure. But A) GayRod has MORE than proven his potential, I think most would agree, and B) archrival Boston was making a huge play to get one of the all-time greats, and the Yanks just couldn't have that. Of course, the Yanks organization went about it intelligently enough to do it without stepping on their superstar's toes.
And yeah, that Leiber is a perennial Cy Young winner, eh?
