Re: The Official T1B Election Thread
Yeah, socialism is espoused by 2 groups.
The first is the naive ones with good intentions that think we'll be better off if we all just pull together, aka "the useful idiots". Some of these folks eventually figure out that humans are highly flawed, self serving asswhipes which pretty much dooms this type of economic system.
The second group is those that benefit from such a system. Primarily politicians and government workers.

Socialized anything will always be inferior in value and quality to that on the open market. Always.

Another fact that JSC and others supporting Bern ignore is the same thing JSC was complaining about earlier. The wealth gap between the rich and poor is higher in the socialist Scandinavian countries than it is for the rest of Europe as a whole. In fact only the Swiss have a higher gap.
But we need Bern and his socialism to fix that gap here? :?

Christie and Carly both out as of today.

Blah, blah, the standard right-wing radio catechism, repeated again and again without any sort of analysis or context. But in fact this standard screed against "socialism" is actually a broad call for the "libertarian" agenda, a completely hollow and superficial description of basic platitudes and abstractions--like "freedom" and so forth. What is really being demanded is basically no taxes, no environmental regulations, and no restraint on corporate power. Okay, and where might we find an example of this deranged agenda in action?L45B wrote:Socialized anything will always be inferior in value and quality to that on the open market. Always.

Kansas, baby.
Oh yeah, you want to see the results of the right wing lunacy actually in office and raping a state. Kansas state budget is facing a $280 million deficit, and the governor--a religious fanatic--is looking to make up that deficit by looting the public pension fund as well as the state highway funds, and the environmental and health funds. Meanwhile the "small businesses" that he's given tax-free status aren't really small at all, and the stimulation of the economy hasn't occurred at all.
So imagine this same sort of simplistic right-wing insanity applied on a national level. And..?...You'll realize that of course Bernie is the only candidate even close to sane in his policies and plans.

Re: The Official T1B Election Thread
Yes, of course. Nothings screams sanity louder than adding $9 trillion in new spending to our $20 trillion debt. Fortunately for the rest of the world, the only one who will ever "Feel the Bern" is Sanders Claus himself. The fix is in Felchie, old shoe.

But babs, your standard robot reply ignores the fact of Bernie's plan to actually tax the huge corporations--which currently park all their profits off shore. The deficit would fall in short order--as the highways and dams and infrastructure would also actually be maintained. It's obvious that "libertarians" are some kind of hyper anti-intellectual cowards, but how interesting to see that they actually hate America itself.
And B-juice, I already put up a guitar track--which basically kicked guzzler's fat ass. He tried twice to play it and couldn't even figure out the chords--and there's only three. If I choose to offer some more, I'll make that decision. But let's quit the pretending, you tedious spindly fraud.

We already have the highest corporate income tax in the industrialized world, dumbfuck. That's why they park their money (not yours) offshore. You want to bring it back? No problem. Drop the rate or eliminate it altogether.LTS TRN 2 wrote:But babs, your standard robot reply ignores the fact of Bernie's plan to actually tax the huge corporations--

Re: The Official T1B Election Thread
And that robust and simplistic approach is doing how well in Kansas?
The assumption that it's simply their money is false. In fact corporations use all manner of public property and resources all the time. The notion of lower and lower corporate tax is nothing more than the utterly debunked and disgraced "trickle down" theory as championed by Don Regan through his senile puppet, Ron Reagan. This is precisely when America went from the biggest creditor nation to the biggest debtor.
As we watch Kansas go through the kabuki play of slow and drastic starvation and suicide, we can perhaps take a lesson--that the right-wing insanity is nothing but a catastrophe being urged on by depraved lunatics.

Right...well the horrible band, Kansas, is probably doing a lot better than the state itself. And what's really creepy is that as the religious nutjob governor guts the state's economy, he's plenty willing to support every increase in military spending that comes along.

Huh? Does this sort of childish gibberish actually reflect your totally fake head space? Apparently so. Kansas is a major agricultural producer in the world--the top wheat producer in America, and second only to Texas in beef. Wichita has become a center of the aviation industry. Similarly it is a leading state in crude petroleum. The fact that the short sighted (and religious lunatic) corporate whore GOP leadership has gone all in with "fracking, " the disastrous polluting method of natural gas extraction, and that this horrible practice has fortunately been undercut by sleazy Saudis, etc., has only added to the utter failure and disaster of the rabid right-wing agenda imposed upon Kansas.

They also have 4.3% unemployment. It doesn't seem like there's much room for growth without more workers. The only thing starving in Kansas are government parasites.LTS TRN 2 wrote:Huh? But what remains 100 percent accurate is that you are a pitifully ignorant dumbfuck. Go fuck yourself with Felcho's crank.

At least Nebraska has some color to it. Kansas is like driving through a hundreds mile long sepia filter.

Growth? Are you on crack? Kansas is going the opposite direction under Brownback's Tea Party lunacy..mvscal wrote:They also have 4.3% unemployment. Gov. Sam Brownback’s income tax-cut plan to spur job growth in Kansas has become a full-time disaster.
On Friday, the state announced it had lost 3,000 total jobs in August. That’s on top of the 5,100 jobs lost in July.
Here’s even more dire news: The Sunflower State in the past 12 months gained a total of a puny 1,000 new jobs.
That’s the fourth worst record in the entire United States, at .1 percent employment growth for the entire last year.
Here was Brownback in 2012 when he imposed the Tea Party malignancy upon Kansas..
"Our new pro-growth tax policy will be like a shot of adrenaline into the heart of the Kansas economy," he promised then. Brownback's tax consultant, the supply-side guru Art Laffer, promised Kansans that the cuts would pay for themselves in supercharged economic growth.
Of course in the standard behavior of these addled frauds, Brownback doubled down, and continues to insist that down is up, and that his deranged simplistic agenda is working. In fact,
More tax changes were enacted last year. The top rate was cut to 3.9% in stages through 2018. But other cuts were reversed; much of a sales tax reduction was canceled, and the standard deduction was cut back, effectively raising taxes for the middle- and working-class.
In all, as the CBPP documents, the changes will cut the taxes of the wealthiest 1% of Kansans by 2.2%. The poorest 20% of Kansans will see their taxes rise by 1.3%.
The impact on overall state revenue has been devastating. Despite Laffer's prediction, the state ended fiscal 2014 with a shortfall of $338 million.
AS for just who these "government parasites" are, do you mean the mailman? Public school teachers? As usual you've got nothing beyond your sputtering bile.

Look assholes, if anybody is going to crack on Kansas, let it be Missourians who have a blood feud with Jayhawkers going back 150 fucking years. YOU can't talk about Kansas or Kansans that way.
Other than my disdain for Jayhawks and Lawrence in general, that state and the people who live there are the backbone of this country.
