The King of Comedy

Post by Screw_Michigan »

Just watched the King of Comedy, the Scorsese-Deniro flick that also stars Jerry Lewis from 1983. HOLY SHIT. What a fucked up movie. What is with Scorsese and these dark, twisted flicks based in 70s/80s NYC? It's like a bloodless Taxi Driver. Of course, Deniro is brilliant as an absolute psycho and Jerry Lewis is pretty good, too. Sandra Bernhard was good too.

It's available for free on youtube if anyone wants to watch it.

Speaking of Scorsese, ever see After Hours? Twisted and funny.

It had a lot of promise (anthology of music industry in the 70s) and ended up being a complete wreck
What didn't you like about it? I just hadn't gotten around to it, I look forward to watching the season eventually.
