Ted Cruz pwns Deadspin

Apparently Cruz has been organizing an informal basketball game in an effort to bridge previous hurt feelings and Deadspin, a Gawker off-shoot, disputed it. Cruz's team came back with a pic of Grayson Allen shooting a free throw and asking, "What do I win?" The likeness is remarkable.

From there Deadspin insulted Cruz by telling him to go eat shit, to which Cruz got in a second shot by tweeting an Anchorman vid.

The twitter universe has been proclaiming bode for Cruz ever since.

Pretty funny and a definite "win" for Cruz.

I used to enjoy Deadspin until they became too political.

It figures that Ted Cruz would find a picture of a sleazy cheap shot Duke player to use in his stead. It's too bad Deadspin didn't see the inherent comedy in that picture. It's almost as if Ted Cruz has become self aware of the fact that everybody thinks he's a douchebag.

That was how I read it. Duke, a notoriously dirty player, and one of the more despised elected officials-- Cruz possibly has the biggest intellect in government and I suspect enough self awareness to recognize his own shortcomings in the area of compainionable gifts. With some self deprecation and (for a Republican) a comfort level with social media, Cruz scored big in the arena of what traditionally in the Democrat's wheelhouse.
