Actually, Americans were acquainted with the Hilux many years ago with the rest of the world. It is just the last 20 years or so that Toyota hopped on the bigger is better bandwagon with everyone else in North America.

I wished they'd go back to offering actual small trucks here. They'd have that market largely to themselves.

The exchange rate is .76, so knock off about $15,000 for equivalent $US.

This. When we bought our last vehicle sales guy was monthly payments, monthly payments monthly payments. I let him know pretty quickly that we would talk total cost only.

The episode of Top Gear where they tried to kill a Hilux might have been their finest hour.

I really fukking hate that. If I ever buy new again, which is kinda doubtful, my first words to sales dude will be if I hear the words monthly payment, I will walk the fukk out.

Can't blame them though. It is the world we live in today. Borrow for everything. Kind of makes you wonder what will happen to our economy when real world interest rates come back. It will put a hurt on the auto industry and it will completely assfukk real estate.

Ever watch the one where they raced/crashed RVs on a short oval? I about pissed myself laughing. James swinging a frying pan at someone making an outside pass was awesome.

Its called Grand Tour and is on Amazon. It was a bit clunky to start, but got better by the end.
