I take back what I have said about Dannel Malloy and his merry band of retards in Hartford. You are not the worst run state in the country. Illinois has stepped up its game.

Illinois is in the same boat as Ct and many other blue states. They are absolutely overwhelmed with state pension obligations they have no hope of meeting. And guess what, every time you ask your more wealthy residents to pay his "fare share", another moving truck rolls up to rich dudes McMansion. End result, the states coffers get a little lighter and some fukking SEC shithole gets another damn yankee to complain about.

Just to be clear on this, they had the money to pay lottery winners, they just had it in the wrong pocket. Hard to believe that a website called rightwingnews would put out a misleading headline. But a fascinating 4-year-old story.

Lottery spokesman Mike Lang said Friday that the mistake happened when a computer file wasn’t sent on time to the lottery’s bank. He says lottery officials didn’t key in the required security verification for the checks.

It didn't indicate that the state of Illinois couldn't come up with $159,000. Once I noted that the story was 4 years old, I felt no need to do further research.

But I agree that Illinois does not know how to run a lottery. Bunch of stupid FIBs.

Didn't research the link at all, just googled it when fox news said they were getting ready to do a piece on it. Anyhoo, at least I can take solace in the fact that my state is only the second worst run. Illinois is lapping the field in the incompetent state gubmint special olympics. Hell, we might even drop off the podium, with Cali, NY, NJ all making their moves these last few years.
