An absolutely disgraceful display of jury nullification--enabled and encouraged by the S.F. DA office choosing to pursue the absurd charge of 1st degree murder. But the 2nd degree as well as Involuntary manslaughter were of course plainly available--and proper evidence was introduced to support either of these charges.
So what actually happened? Suffice to say the assistant DA and his attorneys assigned to this case were Hispanic. And the lead defense attorney, Mr. Matt Gonzalez, is a long time fixture of the hardline progressive contingency in S.F.--which is like Che with dildo up his ass--and he was in top form. He was almost mayor a while back.
The perp won't be out anytime soon, as the felony of gun possession with his record will get a 10 spot, though the feds are apparently ready to step in and fuck things up.
Oh, this just in from Baghdad By The Bay, a semi truck filled with holiday party gear just plowed into a toll booth on the Bay Bridge, killing a toll booth lady (46, Chinese) and taking out five cars. Truck driver arrested, DUI and vehicular etc. I don't think he's Hispanic, however, and so he's probably...gulp!...a citizen, and so he'll get twenty.
OK, who stole Let's turd's pword? That was a very reasonable post.
As for toll collectors getting killed, being a very regular user of Mass toll roads, I have to ask, WTF do you still have toll booths?
Mass doesn't get much right, when it comes to the roads, but tearing down all the toll booths a year or so ago and going to EZ Pass/license plate reader, bill you by mail, is awesome.
Don't get me wrong, driving anywhere inside 495 still sucks shit through a straw, but losing the booths has helped a lot. I can't imagine a state like cali that thinks it is cutting edge on everything, hasn't done it yet.
