I was simply responding to Mikey's comment about phony engine noise, which is not phony, just different levels of muffled exhaust. Quiet mode would likely come in handy when with the wife or SO.

You fit in here about as well as you do on a basketball court, run along now.

What kind of emasculated pussy are you anyway ?? Why would you care what your wife or man bitch cares ??

My wife drives our 94 GT Mustang as hard as I do. If you don't like muscle car noise then go buy a fucking Camry.

I'm the kind of guy who doesn't call a car with 214 HP a muscle car.

Ok right off the hop, I am not a car guy. Cars and trucks are transportation to me. I keep them until they aren’t all that reliable and then get a new one. Some have been 5 years other 10. Not dumping on others just giving you a bit of background.

Those of you that have muscle cars, where do you drive them? Do you go out into the mountains and turn the car loose? A race track? What good is all that HP if you just out grabbing groceries? The hipster in the Prius isn’t going to be far behind you if at all on the way to the mega mart.

So why the need for 400+ HP? Hell, my 5800 lb Suburban only makes 380 HP. But it can tow a couple of tons. It will also beat a rice burner off the line and to 30 mph despite being 4 times as heavy.

So where do y’all drive your muscle cars?

There are some nice roads between the foothills and desert that are a lot of fun, and not very crowded at the right time of year. I've also competed in Auto-x at Qualcomm Stadium, and Race Legal also at the stadium for 1/8 mile drag races (w/ time slips). Both are a lot of fun, but just listening to the exhaust on the way into the office puts a smile on my face every day.

Stock statistics don't matter to real car guys, unless they are like you and are one of the dick rubbing morons jacking off about their great new car they got financed so easy. You do know that you can add after market performance items, like air intakes, Supertuner SCT performance ships, tuned exhaust, beefed up transmissions, suspension modifications and other bolts ons to easily bring that horsepower up to the 300 range before you even open the engine up.

It goes down the road hard, will roast the tires as long as you want it to, and it is a paid for car that was a daily driver for 12 years and still kicks ass at 150K miles. So go back to posting the videos of your car worship fetish, and stay away from the real muscle cars at car shows and hang out with your new Mustang homies because the rest of us think you all suck.

It's phony because it's 99.9% about hard-on inducing (for gearheads anyway) noise, and about 0.1%, if that much, about actual performance.

About as useful, and annoying, as those ghetto blasters that rattle your windows when they pull up anywhere within 50 feet of your ride at a stoplight. Nothing but self-satisfaction for the "look at me" crowd.
