I expect it will recoup this inside of a month. I am certain there will be some that say this was caused by today's memo drop.

Meh. 600 point drop, big fuckin deal. Periodic minor correction with some over valued tech stocks getting sold off. I lost some money, but a small portion of the gains made in the last 12 months. Panic and over reaction is for amateurs. Put one of my properties on the market today for 30K more than I paid for it 14 months ago.

RACK me and my Lockheed Martin stock, among other defense industry stocks. It jumped $35 this past Monday for overperforming analysts’ expectations.

As for Boeing, that’d be good stock to own right about now for the upgrades locked in for the CH-47E. That airframe will still be working in the field 100 years after it was delivered in the mid 20th century.

Anytime is a good time for a tax cut. Taxes are out of control. They still need to be walked back quite a bit. That needs to go hand in hand with a ton of spending cuts. But tax cuts are always a good thing.

I did do some buying today, not a huge amount. I had already moved some money to real estate so the drop does not bother me at all. I am looking at 25% gains on that right now so it is what it is.

Why do you even start with that statement?

Yes, in terms of points, it is the biggest, but it is irrelevant. 4% certainly is something to be concerned about, but it is not even close to the worst and was to be expected after a 35% run since the D got elected.

As for the tax cuts, my biggest problem was that there is nothing on the cut side. I do like that things have been simplified somewhat, but not enough. Getting rid of the subsidies to states that spend wrecklessly was a good idea, but it didn't go far enough. We should have further tax and spending cuts and abolish ALL edductions. Yes, even those to charitable or organizations, as the Clintons have shown, can be abused as well.

I do think that TGOF's enthusiastic pimping of the Dow is kinda stupid. Stick with pointing out the actual good things like the economic activity that has resulted thanks to tax/regulatory changes.
