Why would his leadership skills need to be mentioned here?Believe the Heupel wrote:Hm. Thought so. No mention of the fact that Kerry was considered a natural leader and was well-liked by his peers. No mention that the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth Distortion get made to look like the fuckin' morons they are by this. Just simple "Your guy is dumb like ours" fingerpointing.
The Swift Boats never had their claims refuted, only ignored, then stonewalled before being personally attacked.
And, no, this is not a simply "your guy is as dumbas ours." Our guy had better grades.
And that's important, because you tards ran the game the entire election that Bush was a dummy and Kerry was much smarter.
He was well liked by sculptors too:Hm. Thought so. No mention of the fact that Kerry was considered a natural leader and was well-liked by his peers. Since when is someone required to list off the inventory of a person's positive attributes prior to insulting him?

The wash part comes in when you listen to George Bush trying to get out from under the embarassment of not knowing what the word "sovereign" meant in relation to a question regarding indian tribes.
If you missed that audio link interview, it was a priceless example of just what a mindless puppet the guy really is.
"A sovereign nation is, well it's sovereign. They're a sovereign nation" :)

You were defending Kerry's character. Therefore it was easy to lump you in with Kerry supporters (and Kerry himself) who proudly proclaimed that Bush was a dummy.Believe the Heupel wrote:Hm. Maybe I'll just play your card and say "Give me a link where I said that Bush was a dummy and that Kerry was much smarter."DrDetroit wrote:Why would his leadership skills need to be mentioned here?Believe the Heupel wrote:Hm. ...and then cashed in like a motherfucker as a lobbyist after he lost. He was going to retire from the Senate no matter what. Don't act like he's some kind of fucking saint.mvscal wrote:Bob Dole resigned his seat to campaign for President...

Being Canadian, I'm not sure you understand how much money American members of Congress make when they decide to cash in their chips with their lobby friends. Dole made enough to keep him in Viagra for the next billion or so years.Hapday wrote:What does that have to do with anything? However, in order to cash in, Dole had to resign. Even had Dole not recieved the GOP nomination he would have resigned his seat.

He had to know the odds were against him when he looked around in August and realized he had no definable platform.

According to Hillary Clinton's 2003 Senate financial-disclosure form (the latest available), husband Bill had 60 paid speaking engagements during 2002. From them, he earned an average of more than $159,000 per speech, or $9,542,500 in total.
Road to riches
To give an idea of how a former president keeps himself busy on the lecture circuit, here's one month of Clinton's schedule.
Feb. 7. Speech to the Women's International Zionist Organization in Miami. Fee: $125,000.
Feb. 11: Speech to Group Vivendi/Universal in Sundance, Utah. Fee: $150,000.
Feb. 15: Speech to the Long Island Association in Woodbury, N.Y. Fee: $125,000.
Feb. 18: Speech to ORT, a Jewish charity in Montreal. Fee: $125,000.
Then, Clinton made a quick pop Down Under to make presentations in Sydney (Feb. 22, for a whopping $300,000), Perth (Feb. 23, $125,000), Adelaide (Feb. 25 and 26, $125,000 and $250,000), and Melbourne (Feb. 27, $125,000).
All told, his words of wisdom generated $1.45 million in fees in a single short month.
Agents usually take between 20 and 30 percent of a speaker's fees. But according to Castel, bookers often settle for as little as 10 percent to capture the business of high-profile speakers.
