Trump Fact Check: San Diego County Did Not Ask For Border Wall

President Trump said Wednesday that San Diego has asked him to start building its section of the border wall; a San Diego County spokesman told KPBS that the county has not made any such request.

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors did vote to support a federal lawsuit against California sanctuary laws last month, but that didn’t include a request for the wall.

"This county has taken no action with regard to the wall," said County spokesman Michael Workman.

The projects in question involve replacing 14 miles of primary border fencing along San Diego County's border, and eventually 14 miles of secondary fencing that runs parallel to the main fence. Congress authorized funding for fiscal years 2017 and 2018.

A spokesman for San Diego sector's Border Patrol said the agency was aware of "nothing new" in regards to the projects and that they do not yet have a start date for construction.

Here’s what President Trump told reporters in the White House:

“San Diego has asked us to go forward with their section of the wall in California.”

A White House official told KPBS on background that the president might have been referring to some San Diego area residents.

It is likely a white guy getting the snot beat out of him by the police doesn't make the news, so who really knows how often it happens? If true that blacks are on the wrong end of a police baton more often, I don't believe it has anything to do with genetics. More like an environment where blacks don't have good parents as mentors, dilapidated schools and neighborhoods, and the NAACP setting the bar low & making excuses for underachievement. Leading to more crime and distrust of police.

For police in these areas, everyday is like working in a war zone, They never know when some douche bag is going to shoot them in the back, or during a traffic stop, or during a domestic violence call, etc. Which is likely the catalyst for much of the police brutality.

No, we are not all in agreement. The fact that a particular race is dominant in a particular area is not proof that genetics are the cause, so your conclusion is unsubstantiated. I'm not saying it may not be true or at least that genetics may be a significant contributor, but other factors may be more to blame.

There was a time (<1950) when basketball was dominated by Shlomo's peeps. One reason might obviously be that blacks were banned from the NBA, but other factors were commonly cited.

Bottom line is that culture, economics, location, and other societal and demographic factors may individually or collectively play larger roles than genetics in determining why a particular group may dominate in a given area.

It has been known since the 70s that in general blacks have more fast twitch muscle in their legs than other races. Which is why they dominate track and field sprinting events, and are better in basketball because they also jump higher/are great leapers.
