The cognitive dissonance from the left, while normal behavior for them, is still stunning in its idiocy.
Nobody in here is saying it is good to drag kids through the desert for hundreds of miles.
There is a reason why a parent does that, Rooster.
The other options they see are more fearsome.

Not sure why those kids should be the American citizens' concern. It's not like we forced those families to bypass the first country they entered (Mexico) to request asylum. We certainly didn't force these families to uproot themselves and travel to a place where they might not be welcome either.
Perhaps they should expend a bit of all that energy they've used to travel and make their own country a better place to raise their bambinos?

Rooster wrote:Look, I think you misunderstand my position, goobs. I am not anti-immigration. On the contrary, I am extremely pro-immigration, just in a lawful, orderly manner wherein people gain admittance and citizenship based on numbers determined to be acceptable by designated representatives duly elected by US citizens.
Just like we were all taught in kindergarten, there is no cutting the line to get ahead. If you do and get caught, you go to the back of the line. Full stop.
There are protocols for those people who are requesting asylum. Economic privation is not an acceptable reason for granting asylum and care needs to be taken to prevent the casual abuse of our largesse towards those who would take advantage of the system.
Having a child does not grant the parent(s) special status when examining them for a green card or citizenship. Fecundity is not a useful attribute when discussing an adult's ability to contribute in our society.
Finally, it is incumbent on the immigrant to show us what they bring to the table, not the other way around. We don't owe them a thing.
You said nothing about the policy to separate kids from parents.
That is what we are talking about here.
What is your take on that?
It is a very simple starting point.
However you go about dealing with the migrant situation, it is a GIVEN that you do not separate children from parents.
Period.
