Having looked back at many of these iterations, the common theme is HOLY FUCK was that shit horrible. What used to pass as "funny" or "good smack" hasn't aged well at all. If someone like a VALVENIS showed up today, he'd get buried inside of two days. Even looking back at somewhat recent smack-offs on this board, I cringe at what I read, from myself and others. I guess you have to acknowledge history, but you don't have to like it.

As do I. I've gone back over the last Smack Off here on a few occasions, and it still reads as entertaining and funny. It's the mood of the board that has changed. Everyone just wants to argue politics and back bite over stupid shit. You can count the posters on one hand that try to be creative and have fingers left over.
