Brisket burnt ends. JSC's banana pudding gets run here as well - a new holiday tradition.

We stuck with the basics this year. No huge family get together but stayed home and had roasted turkey; mashed potatoes; dressing made with rustic bread; gravy; peas; canned cranberry sauce; a tray of raw and pickled veggies; fresh pears baked with honey, walnuts and cinnamon, pumpkin and mince pies.
Every part was awesome. The combination even better.

The mother in-law did the classic Norman Rockwell "Freedom from Want" white bread Thanksgiving dinner. It consisted of the following:
20+ lb turkey oven roasted
homemade stuffing
mashed potatoes
sweet potatoes with brown sugar and marshmallows on top
peas
cranberries
King's Hawaiian rolls
gravy
olive dish
Jello
Desert consisted of pumpkin pie, apple pie, caramel cheesecake and sweet rhubarb pie
Everyone had leftovers to bring home. Had some for dinner today. most epic.

The pralines and pumpkin sounds great. Will have to try.
Last time I did a pumpkin pie was on a boy scout camping trip. The recipe called for lemon zest and it really made it.

Yeah but not over the top hot. Lots of flavor.
My son pours some kind of ghost pepper sauce on his food. I’m just not ready for that.

Makes sense. Louisianans are just Quebequois who said "fukk this frozen hell" a few hundred years ago.

I think he meant "pralines are a European thing. They're also popular in Louisiana."
Pumpkin pie is nasty. I don't care what you put on it. It's a waste of a pie crust.

Pecan pralines are not a “thing” in Europe and the recipe clearly calls for pecans. Do you EVER get tired of being wrong?
