Before Chavez was democratically elected, sorta like Hitler, Venezuela’s exports were about 3/4 oil. This wasn’t ideal, but then they do have a metric shit ton of the stuff.

Then Hugo nationalized everything, just like Maxine Waters says she’d do, given the opportunity. By 2010 oil was 96% of their total exports.
